Luffy overpowered Kaido and claimed victory when he activated his Devil Fruit’s Awakening, obtaining Gear 5. This significant boost in power enabled him to match Kaido’s strength effortlessly, ultimately defeating him decisively and becoming the undisputed Yonko.

However, his most significant misstep was engaging Shanks in combat, who handily defeated him, resulting in the loss of one arm by Ben Beckman.

In due course, he seized an opportunity for amends, facing off against another formidable Yonko, Big Mom. Side by side with his comrade from the Worst Generation, Law, they triumphed against insurmountable odds. Their victory was achieved during the Siege of Onigashima.
