I’ve been thoroughly captivated by the Elbaf arc in One Piece, and as an observer, I can say it’s left fans on the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating what Oda will unveil next after a two-week hiatus. In the latest chapter, Oda skillfully deepened the bond between Loki and Hajrudin, leaving me even more intrigued about where this captivating story is heading.
Simultaneously, spectators were treated to the sight of the Holy Knights employing their abilities to guide the children safely towards Elbaf’s coast, near the Western Village. This chapter was truly awe-inspiring to behold! As the series has recently resumed after its hiatus, anticipation mounts for what lies ahead, and fans are simply thrilled at the prospect.

- A Collaboration Of Powers Is Revealed
In the world of “One Piece,” it’s long been acknowledged that the Holy Knights are formidable figures, a notion reinforced throughout the storyline. The Elbaf arc served to underscore this point, as it became clear that these knights possess immense power. Although glimpses of their abilities were seen earlier, it was in “One Piece” chapter 1143 that Oda delved deeper into their powers.
Gunko’s abilities were unveiled within the Underworld of Elbaf, but for Sommers and Killingham, recently called to Elbaf, their powers remained unknown… until now, as “One Piece” chapter 1143 gave fans a glimpse into what they can do.
Did you see the look on the face of that Giant when he got pierced by the thorns? — Sommers
Iba Iba no Mi – Sommers’s Ability
In the One Piece chapter 1143, Saint Sommers demonstrated his might. It appears that he consumed a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit known as the Iba Iba no Mi. This fruit grants him the ability to transform into a human with thorns and produce them at will. These thorns can appear on his body, weapons, or specific targets, allowing Sommers to utilize them skillfully. Additionally, he seems capable of creating invisible thorns that can wrap around targets, as shown in chapter 1143 when he used them against the kids. When Saul attempted to retrieve the kids for the Walrus School, his hand was pricked by a thorn. Sommers mentioned that the stronger the love is, the more potent the thorns become.
Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Kirin
As I watched, spectators were given an intriguing peek at the enigmatic powers of Killingham’s Devil Fruit. Clutching the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Kirin, this extraordinary individual possesses a Mythical Zoan ability that allows him to materialize dreams and thoughts into tangible form. He holds the captivating power to lull others into slumber, then bring forth from their minds whatever thoughts or dreams they harbor, making them real.
In this section, he skillfully transformed the creatures conjured up by children’s minds into tangible beings. Notably, here he succeeded in creating a dining table, supplying it with food, and even materializing salt.
Loki Finally Passes Out
Luffy Was Able To See Through Loki
In the Underworld’s bustling scene, I caught a glimpse of Loki causing quite a stir. He was bluffing and making threats to gain freedom, but the truth was, he was weakened significantly. The determined Luffy and his crew quickly saw through his deception. As Loki prepared for another outburst, Luffy decisively stepped in and gave him a well-timed hit, sending him crashing down with a simple use of Gear 3. With that blow, Loki tumbled unconscious to the ground.
Don’t tell me you really believe that I killed our father. You don’t buy it, do you? — Loki
Viewers also had a look into Loki and Hajrudin’s history. Born as princes in Elbaf under King Harald, they were trained to safeguard their kingdom. However, it appears that Loki consistently outmatched Hajrudin in strength, often mistreating him. In response to insulting his mother and a supposed crime of slaying their father, Hajrudin was observed attempting to punish Loki. Yet, those nearby intervened and prevented the execution.
Oda Sets Up A Loki Flashback
At this particular moment, Oda elected to unveil a major plot point, as Loki had anticipated Hajrudin wouldn’t be like the rest and assumed he was responsible for their father’s death. As previously suspected, it becomes apparent in the narrative that Hajrudin wasn’t privy to the complete truth about the past events. All he understands is that Loki took his father’s life, but there seems to be a more profound secret concealed within. It appears Oda is preparing to reveal Loki’s backstory through a flashback, and fans are eagerly anticipating what he will disclose next week.
