One Piece Characters We Can’t Wait To See Again

In the sprawling realm of One Piece, I’ve been privileged to encounter countless characters during our epic adventure. From formidable foes to unwavering companions, Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus has crafted personalities so gripping that their absence is palpably felt within the storyline.

As the series nears its end, several beloved characters from earlier chapters appear to be on hold, with their tales momentarily suspended as the Straw Hat group presses forward on their journey. However, with the final act underway, there’s a strong possibility of these characters reappearing and tying up loose ends.

Seven captivating figures have won our affection, provoked our feelings, and sparked our excitement for their return.

7.
Enel

The God Who Fell From Grace

For nearly 800 episodes now, Enel’s influence remains palpable in fan discussions, even though he hasn’t been part of the main narrative for quite some time. Known as the “God of Skypiea”, this character possessed the Goro Goro no Mi, a unique Logia-type Devil Fruit that gave him control over lightning. Back then, he was invincible in a literal sense, with only Luffy’s rubber physique offering any real resistance.

In another phrase, it could be said: He held the conviction of divine supremacy and governed Skypiea like an autocrat from high above. His downfall seemed like a divine retribution, yet rather than meeting his end or being detained, Enel departed, soaring away towards the moon under a pretext that unveiled a fresh science fiction subplot encompassing space robots and an ancient metropolis known as Birka.

He’s still one of the few significant antagonists who entirely vanished from the primary narrative, sparking even greater excitement among fans about an unexpected comeback. Given that Imu and the ancient artifacts are becoming clearer, Enel’s otherworldly character might at last find a logical explanation.

6.
Bartolomeo

Fanboy Turned Faithful Ally

Amongst both fans and himself, there’s no one more devoted to the Straw Hat Pirates than Bartolomeo. This character, introduced during the Dressrosa storyline, initially appeared as an unpredictable card with a remarkably potent Barrier-Barrier Fruit. However, it was not his power that made him stand out; instead, it was his unabashed admiration for Luffy that endeared him to many.

1. He shed genuine tears at the sight of Luffy in action.

2. He constructed shrines dedicated to the Straw Hat crew.

3. He took drastic steps, setting ablaze a region bearing Shanks’ mark and replacing it with Luffy’s emblem, sparking widespread debate over an impending confrontation between the two pirate captains.

Currently, Bartolomeo is at the helm of The Barto Club and has been appointed as one of the captains in the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. Fans have been eagerly anticipating the outcome following his controversial act of disrespecting Shanks’ domain, an action that could either spark conflict or provide a source of humor.

Regardless, it’s only a matter of time before we meet up with Luffy again. And when that moment comes, get ready for some spectacular displays and plenty of noise!

No matter what, I’m going to run into Luffy eventually. When that happens, it’ll be exciting and noisy!

5.
Charlotte Katakuri

The Perfect Son Who Found Respect

During the Whole Cake Island saga, Katakuri served as Luffy’s seemingly insurmountable obstacle, showcasing just how much further the future Pirate King needed to ascend. However, against all expectations, Katakuri evolved into something greater. Equipped with his Future Sight Haki, awakened abilities from the Mochi Mochi no Mi, and a formidable standing within the Big Mom Pirates, Katakuri appeared invincible.

In the heat of the battlefield in the thrilling world of One Piece, I couldn’t help but notice that beneath his seemingly invincible exterior, this character was struggling to keep it together. Cracks were slowly emerging, revealing a man who bore the weight of his vulnerabilities, both physically and emotionally. Yet, amidst the chaos, he demonstrated an uncommon level of integrity by giving Luffy a chance to regroup during the fight, even when it wasn’t entirely fair. This act was a testament to the rare form of honor that exists in this world of One Piece villains.

After our intense showdown, respect for each other was earned between Katakuri and me, the gamer. Though he emerged victorious, Katakuri never let his pride falter in defeat. Now that Big Mom’s crew is disorganized and struggling, fans like myself are eager to see more of Katakuri – maybe next time not just as an obstacle, but perhaps even as a reluctant ally.

4.
Donquixote Doflamingo

The Puppet Master Behind The Throne

Among the antagonists in One Piece, Doflamingo stands out for delivering profound philosophical statements. Not merely a villain, he was also eloquent about his cruelty. His speech, “Justice will prevail? Absolutely, it will… because the victors decide what’s right,” continues to be quoted and discussed in anime communities even today.

During the Dressrosa storyline, Doflamingo exploited his Ito Ito no Mi powers to orchestrate a kingdom’s downfall while presenting a happy exterior. He controlled individuals, governments, and even the Marines subtly. His defeat at the hands of Luffy may have signaled the close of an era in the New World, but it seemed as though his impact continued to linger.

Ever since I tasted my own defeat, I’ve been locked up in the grim confines of Impel Down. But make no mistake, even behind these iron bars, I’m still dropping cryptic whispers about secrets that could darken the heart of any pirate. If there’s a ticking time bomb in the One Piece world, it’s undoubtedly me.

3.
Yamato

The Oni Who Chose Freedom

In the story of One Piece, Yamato swiftly gained popularity upon his debut in Wano. Despite being Kaido’s son, Yamato demonstrated a strong allegiance to Kozuki Oden, embodying the complexities that make characters in this series captivating. He chose to renounce his father’s oppressive rule and instead embraced Oden’s vision of welcoming the world to Wano.

Using a legendary Zoan Devil Fruit known as the Inu Inu no Mi (Okuchi no Makami), Yamato engaged in battle alongside the alliance against Kaido, managing to hold him off single-handedly to safeguard Momonosuke. The combination of his raw strength, unwavering personal convictions, and emotional ties to the series’ central themes of freedom and heritage led many spectators to anticipate that he might one day join the Straw Hat Pirates following the Wano arc.

However, contrary to predictions, Oda deviated from the usual course. Instead of leaving Wano like Oden did, Yamato opted to explore the nation first. This unexpected decision left fans in a quandary, some admiring his determination, while others yearned for further adventures.

2.
Carrot

The Moonlight Warrior Finding Her Path

Originally a secondary figure in the Mokomo Dukedom, Carrot gained prominence during the Whole Cake Island storyline. Full of energy, inquisitive, and fiercely devoted, she rapidly established connections with the Straw Hats, particularly Luffy, and eventually joined them on their quest to rescue Sanji.

Carrot’s most astonishing moment occurred during her struggle against Big Mom’s fleet. There, she unveiled her Sulong form under the light of the full moon. In this transformed state, Carrot moved with incredible speed, akin to a beast, destroying enemy ships with such agility that it left spectators speechless. This performance hinted at her ability to fight at the forefront during upcoming story arcs.

Regardless of speculation and dreams among fans that she’d become a permanent member of the Straw Hat Pirates, Carrot ended up staying behind on Zou. However, following Pedro’s demise, she was appointed as the new head of the Mink Tribe. Yet, many fans believe her narrative is incomplete.

1.
Bentham

A Friendship That Transcends Prison Walls

Initially portrayed as an extravagant antagonist within Baroque Works, Bentham – more commonly recognized as “Mr. 2 Bon Clay” – ended his arc in such a way that left an indelible impact on viewers’ hearts, a feat seldom achieved by other characters.

It wasn’t his ability to mimic others, given by his Clone-Clone Fruit, Mane Mane no Mi, that made him stand out, but rather his steadfast loyalty. During the Impel Down arc, Bentham went to great lengths to aid Luffy in breaking into and escaping the underwater prison. The last scene, where he stood heroically before the closing gates of Level 5.5, saluting with a smile as he remained behind to face off against the Marines, is one of the most poignant sacrifices in the series.

Readers eventually discovered a brief article depicting Bentham seemingly alive, now ruling as the new queen in Newkama Land. However, he remains absent from the main narrative. His resurgence wouldn’t merely be a nostalgic appearance; it would mark the return of one of Luffy’s most loyal companions.
