One Piece: Characters Who Hate Nami The Most

One Piece: Characters Who Hate Nami The Most

Highlights

  • Navigating through treacherous seas, Nami has made enemies like Kalifa and Ulti, who underestimated her intelligence and quick thinking.
  • Kuroobi, a member of the Arlong Pirates, despises all humans, particularly Nami, due to the historical alliance between Nami and Arlong.
  • Big Mom despises Nami for outsmarting her and gaining control over Zeus, one of her homies, leading to a deep-seated hatred towards Nami.

In my humble opinion, the pirates of the One Piece world are as diverse and complex as the seven seas themselves. Each one has their own unique story and motivations that drive them to sail the vast oceans. Among these intriguing characters, three stand out for their significant impact on Nami’s life – Kuroobi, Arlong, and Big Mom.

On their voyage across the Grand Line with their pirate team, Luffy’s adventures are brimming with mysterious islands and exciting exploits. Along this journey, they encounter numerous adversaries intent on obstructing them. As a navigator, it is understandable that Nami has gathered some foes; although not primarily involved in combat, she has undeniably rubbed certain individuals the wrong way while navigating the perilous waters under Luffy’s banner.

Even the powerful pirate captain Big Mom wouldn’t hesitate to take out Nami if given the chance – and these One Piece characters share a similar dislike for her.

5 Kalifa

Lost To Nami Despite Being An Overwhelming Favorite

  • Debut: Episode 230

Despite not personally disliking Nami, Kalifa harbors a grudge against her, primarily due to the embarrassing loss she experienced at Nami’s hands during the Enies Lobby Arc, even though Kalifa is generally considered more physically formidable. Being a valued member of CP0, an esteemed organization under the World Government, Kalifa boasts a powerful Devil Fruit and abilities that place her among the series’ most capable characters.

Regardless, she succumbed to Nami’s cunning intellect and swift decision-making, skills crucial for the Straw Hat Pirates to accomplish their task and rescue Nico Robin.

4 Ulti

Nami Stood Her Ground And Annoyed Her To The Max

  • Debut: Episode 982

The Wano Country Arc introduced several fresh characters, including Ulti, who ranks among the six strongest members of Kaido’s pirate crew. She holds a strong grudge against Nami due to a misconception regarding her brother and Nami’s unwillingness to renounce Luffy’s aspiration to be the Pirate King. Previously, Ulti had an encounter with Luffy, which enlightened her about his ambition. From her perspective, this dream was an affront to her captain, Kaido.

Later, Ulti forced Nami to renounce her belief in her captain or face severe penalties. Facing the potential danger of death at the hands of a powerful adversary, Nami resisted the temptation to declare that Luffy would never become the Pirate King – a decision consistent with her strong instinct for self-preservation.

3 Kuroobi

Despises All Humans Especially Nami

  • Debut: Episode 31

Kuroobi belongs to the pirate group led by Arlong, who seized control over the Comoni Islands and its settlements. Among Arlong’s crew, Kuroobi shares his ideology and disdain for humans the most. Since Nami formed an alliance with Arlong, Kuroobi has struggled to trust her, and this suspicion might stem from his general hatred towards humanity.

Regardless of the captain’s apparent affection towards Nami, there was a strong dislike present within him. Once, in search of incriminating evidence against her, he even ransacked her room to accuse her of treachery. However, Nami remained steadfast in honoring their agreement. In his confrontation with Sanji at Arlong Park, he acknowledged Sanji’s power but still ridiculed him for risking his life for a girl he barely knew, whom he deemed insignificant.

2 Arlong

Put Nami Through The Toughest Times Of Her Life

  • Debut: Episode 31

Despite Arlong’s professed fondness for Nami, as he seems to prefer her over most humans, his actions towards her don’t seem to align with this sentiment. Nami has suffered greatly at the hands of Arlong and his pirate crew. They destroyed her village, took away everything she held dear, including the only mother figure she ever knew. To secure the release of her village, she was forced into negotiations, which required her to join his crew and serve him, a decision that tarnished her reputation among those she cared about deeply.

In a world of abundant berries, he established the ransom at an astronomical sum of one hundred million, a figure far beyond the reach of an eight-year-old girl who relied on her adoptive mother, Bell-mere, for sustenance. Remarkably, she embarked on this seemingly insurmountable challenge and honed her skills as a thief over the course of eight years to amass the required funds. However, Arlong later orchestrated a scheme that resulted in her losing all her hard-earned money to the Marines under his control. When she confronted him about this betrayal, he callously laughed in her face. While it’s evident that his actions were driven by a desire to protect her and her prodigious skills, it’s also clear that if he truly cared for her, he would not have subjected her to such hardship, only to return her to her initial state.

1 Big Mom

Lost Part Of Her Soul To Nami

  • Debut: Episode 571

As a gamer, I can’t help but notice how obvious it is that Big Mom has it out for Nami. And honestly, who could blame her? Not only did the Straw Hat Crew cause quite the ruckus on Whole Cake Island, ruining her kid’s wedding, but Nami also swiped a piece of Big Mom’s essence. Zeus, one of the mightiest Homies, crafted from a shard of Big Mom herself, was tricked by Nami into her Clima-Tact with his love for thunderclouds and trained into submission. Quite a pickle she finds herself in!

Nami’s influence over Zeus is so profound that he defies Big Mom’s commands, even though he is one of her associates. This defiance has intensified Big Mom’s dislike for Nami to an extent greater than most Straw Hat Pirates, with their captain, Luffy, being the only one she detests more. Moreover, Big Mom came to despise Zeus as well and attempted to expel her soul fragment from him and eliminate him in the process. However, once again, Nami stepped in to save her newfound ally by permanently bonding him with her Clima-Tact as a container.
