With 2025 almost over, Eiichiro Oda has a special treat for One Piece fans before the year ends. He’ll be revealing this gift on December 21st, 2025, alongside the final One Piece chapter of the year.
I just heard some exciting news for One Piece fans! The December 21st issue of Weekly Shonen Jump will feature a brand new cover illustration by Eiichiro Oda. It looks like we’ll be seeing Luffy front and center again, and that’s not all – Oda is also creating a new color spread for the issue, and everyone is really looking forward to it.
What Will The New Color Spread and Magazine Cover Feature?
Whenever new magazine issues come out, fans eagerly speculate about what One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda will draw. While the artwork is usually good, it often follows a pattern: magazine covers generally showcase Luffy, and the color spreads typically feature the entire Straw Hat Pirates crew.
However, there are occasional exceptions. For instance, the recent magazine cover featured Oda drawing and coloring Rocks D. Xebec, Gol D. Roger, and Monkey D. Garp alongside Luffy. This was a big moment for fans, as it marked the first time they’d seen Xebec in color.
It doesn’t seem like anything major is coming this time around. The illustrations releasing on December 21st will probably just be holiday-themed artwork featuring Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates for Christmas and New Year’s. However, fans might still get a glimpse of Loki in one of them, as he’s an important character in the upcoming Elbaf Arc.
One Piece Will Be Going On Many Breaks In The Upcoming Weeks
I’m so hyped! Oda’s releasing a new One Piece chapter on December 21st, which is amazing, but honestly, I’m already bracing myself for the long wait after that. It’s always tough when a new chapter drops and then we’re back to anticipating the next one!
Because of Eiichiro Oda’s planned breaks and the usual holiday schedule for Weekly Shonen Jump, fans can expect several pauses in the release of new chapters. There will be at least three breaks in December and January.
Plus, the One Piece anime will be taking a break starting at the end of December. This means fans won’t be getting much, if any, new episodes for a while.
