This list contains spoilers up to the Wano arc.
Summary
- Some Devil Fruit abilities in One Piece are easily countered, such as Apoo’s Sound Sound Fruit.
- Kalifa’s Bubble Bubble Fruit can be countered by popping the bubbles with water or wind.
- Monet’s Snow Snow Fruit weakness is fire, making her vulnerable to heat-based attacks.
In the realm of One Piece, when a character consumes a Devil Fruit, they gain extraordinary strength beyond normal human abilities. This is because they acquire a unique talent that can be leveraged in both combat and everyday situations. However, it’s important to note that not all Devil Fruits are equally powerful. While characters like Luffy have been fortunate with their Devil Fruits, others haven’t been as lucky.
Indeed, throughout the One Piece series, certain abilities have been displayed that, despite their effectiveness, can often be outmaneuvered by adversaries. This predicament frequently prompts the users to think inventively when employing their distinctive powers. Given the need to circumvent being outsmarted by the enemy, they must exert additional effort. These are the Devil Fruit abilities in One Piece that are most vulnerable due to their obvious weaknesses.
Sound Sound Fruit
So Long As Someone Blocks Their Ears, Apoo’s Sound Attacks Will Be Ineffective
- User: Scratchmen Apoo
Apoo employs an uncommon fighting method where he generates musical notes which penetrate individuals, followed by internal detonations of powerful attacks. As Luffy and Zoro soon discover, this skillset can be catastrophic for those caught off guard. Fortunately, there’s a straightforward solution to neutralize Apoo’s powers during combat, making his Devil Fruit less effective in battle.
As long as the target keeps their ears protected, Apoo will have to exert additional effort for his power to work effectively. Moreover, the distance at which the music is played is crucial because Apoo’s adversaries must be nearby in order to feel the impact, indicating that there are multiple paths for them to evade his lethal impact.
Bubble Bubble Fruit
Kalifa’s Bubbles, While Dangerous, Are Also Easy To Pop

- User: Kalifa
In a direct confrontation with a formidable adversary, Kalifa typically responds by overwhelming her enemy with a continuous stream of bubbles, draining their energy gradually. However, it’s essential to note that for this Devil Fruit power to reach its full potential, several conditions must be met. For instance, the bubbles are most effective in confined spaces where the target cannot escape, as they would lose potency on an expansive battlefield where focusing them on a single opponent becomes challenging.
The most effective solution is to utilize water to disperse the bubbles. This method not only prevents Kalifa’s projectiles from reaching the victim, but also helps the victim regain their strength after being attacked. Even a strong wind can scatter the bubbles if it’s powerful enough. Therefore, it’s reasonable to assume that if Nami and Kalifa face each other again in the future, Nami would be more capable of defending herself with her upgraded Clima-Tact.
Shadow Shadow Fruit
Moria’s Loyal Army Of Zombies Can Be Taken Down With Salt

- User: Gecko Moria
Upon entering Thriller Bark, I stumbled upon Moria, a once formidable Sea Warlord. However, it didn’t take long to discern that his current state was one of utter laziness. Yet, this lethargy had an explanation. Possessing a unique Devil Fruit, Moria could manipulate shadows and imbue them into corpses, thereby crafting an army at will. Consequently, he didn’t have to exert any effort to eliminate intruders on his ship.
Although the power of this fruit might seem overwhelming at first glance, Oda carefully incorporated some notable weaknesses to keep it in check. One of the most apparent is its vulnerability to salt. As you may know, users of Devil Fruits are susceptible to seawater, which explains why they can’t swim. Consequently, pouring saltwater onto any of Moria’s undead minions will swiftly incapacitate them in a matter of seconds. Given that Moria is not much of a fighter himself and heavily relies on his shadows to carry out his tasks, neutralizing those shadows all at once essentially leaves him exposed and easy prey.
Slow Slow Fruit
Fire Foxy’s Beams Back At Him To Slow Down His Attacks

- User: Foxy
Initially portrayed as a humorous figure, Foxy actually has a potent Devil Fruit power, but it’s one that Luffy eventually overcame with quick wit. This power enables Foxy to emit beams from his hands that slow down anything they hit. At first, this posed a challenge for Luffy, but he quickly figured out the most effective solution: by reflecting the beams back at Foxy himself.
Consequently, he secreted a compact mirror inside his boxing glove, enabling him to bounce the rays back towards Foxy, thereby reducing his speed significantly. However, if someone doesn’t carry a mirror at all times, they can just punch Foxy’s arms forcefully until he becomes incapable of firing his beams, thus rendering him defenseless.
Hollow Hollow Fruit
Perona’s Ghosts Won’t Work On People Who Are Already Pessimistic

- User: Perona
Without a doubt, some people find it simple to quantify Perona’s fruit, yet others may struggle with this task. It’s worth noting that individuals who lack self-assurance or maintain a generally pessimistic perspective might not be swayed by Perona’s Hollow Ghosts, which are specifically designed to siphon optimism and emotion from those they interact with.
In simpler terms, Usopp, being rather timid, was able to withstand the ghosts solely due to his inherent pessimism. Essentially, if someone already holds a negative perspective on life, further attempts to undermine their self-worth will likely have minimal effect.
Swim Swim Fruit
Nobody Can Miss A Gangster Dressed In Pink Swimming Through The Floor

- User: Senor Pink
Senior Pink is among Doflamingo’s henchmen who gets embroiled in a protracted, turbulent fight with Franky during the Dressrosa arc’s main events. At first sight, he might appear to be nothing more than a comic relief character, but he proves otherwise. He has an unusual personal history that evokes emotions, and his Devil Fruit ability is quite peculiar – it allows him to swim through solid structures like walls and floors.
When Senor Pink activates his power, it’s not always concealed during swimming, as he has to make large leaps to truly speed up. Given that he moves relatively slowly, the best strategy is to anticipate his location and either move aside or shift to another platform before he appears. Granted, this can be trickier for larger or heavier characters, but in the world of One Piece, most individuals are agile enough to avoid Senor Pink whenever he employs his peculiar ability.
Calm Calm Fruit
Corazon’s Barrier Won’t Protect Him From Receiving Damage

- User: Donquixote Rosinante / Corazon
From my perspective, the unique trait of the Tranquil Fruit lies in its ability to generate a soundproof shield, which proves quite beneficial for stealthy maneuvers and covert operations. However, despite this cloak of invisibility to sound, Corazon remains conspicuous to the naked eye. Consequently, his adversaries can shatter the fruit’s effect if they come into physical contact with him, as the shield offers no resistance to direct harm.
Indeed, locating him proves challenging since his voice and footsteps won’t make a sound, but once you spot the user, the fruit’s deception is effortlessly shattered. Moreover, the size of the sound barrier isn’t vast, meaning those near Corazon will find it tough for him to employ it undetected as they get closer.
Snow Snow Fruit
Monet’s Snow Abilities Can Be Prevented By Using Fire Attacks

- User: Monet
Despite Devil Fruits having some bizarre and eccentric abilities, their vulnerabilities can often become quite apparent, particularly if they are linked to a natural element. For instance, in the case of Monet, who controlled the Snow Snow Fruit, she was easily defended against her attacks when Nami used her Heat Egg, as she finds it challenging to inflict damage when exposed to fire.
In the world of One Piece, while Monet’s Devil Fruit powers can ignite fire, technology can also produce it as an alternative. Therefore, if someone knows about Monet beforehand, there are numerous ways to prepare for her Devil Fruit. For instance, as Kin’emon demonstrated in the Punk Hazard arc, some characters can generate heat with just their swords. Consequently, there are many characters within One Piece who can confront Monet and her icy abilities head-on.
