One Piece Episode 1115 Reveals Kuzan's Power

Highlights

  • Despite losing to Akainu, Kuzan resigned from the Marines and joined the Blackbeard Pirates, showing his power.
  • Kuzan’s strong Haki and awakened Devil Fruit powers make him a formidable opponent close to Yonko-level strength.

As a long-time One Piece fan and enthusiast of the series’ rich lore, I must say that Aokiji, or Kuzan as he is known to his friends, has always been one of my favorite characters. His unique Devil Fruit ability, strong Haki, and unyielding resolve make him a formidable force in the world of One Piece.

Kuzan, more commonly recognized as Aokiji, previously held the esteemed position of a Navy Admiral within the organization. Over numerous years, he climbed the ranks and ultimately earned this high-ranking role. Following Sengoku’s departure, Kuzan was chosen as one of two candidates to succeed him, alongside Akainu.

On Punk Hazard, the two parties found themselves at a standstill and chose to engage in conflict instead. This battle persisted for ten consecutive days until Akainu was declared the winner. After his loss, Kuzan stepped down from the Marines and joined forces with the Blackbeard Pirates. The former Admiral stayed out of the limelight until the One Piece storyline reached the Egghead arc.

Kuzan Fights Monkey D. Garp

The Pupil Faces His Master In An Epic Showdown

Upon discovering that pirates had kidnapped one of his students, Garp didn’t hesitate to gather fellow Marines for a rescue mission to Hachinosu. Subsequently, Garp departed from the G-14 base accompanied by Prince Grus, Hibari, Tashigi, Helmeppo, and Kujaku. The following steps involved Garp venturing into Blackbeard’s territory to liberate Koby.

With pirates trapped by Prince Grus and Kujaku, Garp employed his Galaxy Impact, inadvertently decimating most of the town. Meanwhile, Hibari and Koby dashed towards the ship as the pirates dispersed. However, when it appeared everything was going smoothly, Kuzan activated his Devil Fruit, freezing Hibari on the spot. Garp understood that Kuzan had already decided his course, leaving no room for alteration. The Vice Admiral instructed Koby to maintain distance, and the battle ensued.

You haven’t changed. You say whatever you wish. —Kuzan

Kuzan used his ice powers to freeze the ground and trap Garp. Normally, this would be game over as all Kuzan needed to do was shatter the structure. However, Garp knew how to free himself. He used Conqueror’s Haki to break out and then continued to attack Kuzan. The latter kept using Hie Hie no Mi, but it created an opportunity for Garp. The Vice Admiral tricked his former student and used Blue Hole to send him crashing into the ground. As Kuzan opened his eyes, he saw Garp’s expression, and it was one of melancholy.

Kuzan’s Tussle With The Blackbeard Pirates

Blackbeard Offers Kuzan A Once-In-A-Lifetime Opportunity

One Piece Episode 1115 Reveals Kuzan's Power

In episode 1115, we learned why Kuzan decided to join the Blackbeard Pirates. Earlier in the show, you saw Kuzan getting angry when Laffitte spoke with Blackbeard. This was because Kuzan had discovered that the Blackbeard Pirates were targeting powerful Devil Fruit users like himself. Recognizing this, he swiftly froze several of the pirates’ crew members, making it clear that he would freeze anyone else in his path without hesitation.

Rather than engaging in a battle, Blackbeard opted to persuade Kuzan instead, an approach that unexpectedly worked on the former Marine. In the event of a confrontation, Kuzan would have a significant upper hand. Unfortunately for Blackbeard, he couldn’t employ the Gura Gura no Mi as his crew members were frozen, and the seismic activity would cause them to splinter apart, leading to their demise.

Kuzan’s Current Power Level

The Former Admiral Is Very Close To The Top

One Piece Episode 1115 Reveals Kuzan's Power
  • Has an awakened Devil Fruit
  • Strong Haki

It’s quite clear from his recent skirmishes that Kuzan surpasses the typical capabilities of an Admiral. Not only did he challenge Akainu to the utmost, but he sustained a ten-day standoff against him – a feat all the more impressive given that Kuzan was at a disadvantage in this confrontation. The reason the battle lasted so long is likely due to Kuzan’s exceptionally powerful Haki, as Akainu’s Magu Magu no Mi could easily melt Kuzan’s ice. Without his strong Haki, it’s safe to say that Akainu would have effortlessly overpowered Kuzan.

Apart from his formidable Haki and fearsome Devil Fruit, Kuzan boasts another potent tool in battle. His opponents often find themselves quickly frozen solid, rendering them helpless. Once incapacitated, Kuzan has free rein over them. Given his rank and combat history, it’s plausible that Kuzan has activated his Devil Fruit’s full potential, elevating its powers significantly. Notably, Kuzan can even freeze expanses of water, making it simple for him to ensnare enemy vessels.

At the moment, I’m practically touching the might of a Yonko, just like Akainu is. If that makes him a top-tier Marine character, then my skills must be equally formidable to measure up against him. The upcoming fight with Garp will give us all a clearer picture of my fighting prowess. As a gamer, I’m eagerly anticipating the outcome!

Kuzan’s Role In The Future

What Does The Future Hold For Kuzan

One Piece Episode 1115 Reveals Kuzan's Power

As part of the Blackbeard Pirates, it’s clear that Kuzan will play a significant role in the Final Saga. Their goal is to overthrow the world, and to achieve this, they require their strongest combatants. Given their pace, it won’t be long before they encounter their most formidable adversaries.

As a dedicated follower of the Blackbeard Pirates, I can’t help but ponder the implications if Kuzan were to leave the Marines. His prowess in battle, second only to the enigmatic Blackbeard himself, makes him an irreplaceable asset. Losing such a formidable fighter could significantly weaken our crew. We would be compelled to seek out and recruit another individual capable of filling his void.
