In Episode 1115 of One Piece, Kuzan’s confrontation with Monkey D. Garp initiated the scene, yet rather than diving straight into the battle, a brief flashback ensued. This flashback revealed the motivation behind Kuzan’s alliance with the Blackbeard Pirates. On an undisclosed island in the New World, Kuzan crossed paths with Blackbeard and his crew. Some of the pirates attempted to assault Kuzan, but the ex-Marine Admiral instantly turned them into ice sculptures. Unimpressed by the fate of his subordinates, Blackbeard chose not to engage in combat with Kuzan.

Their discourse then moved on to Hinokizu, also known as the Man with the Burn Scar. Gossip suggests that this enigmatic individual sails on a black-hulled ship. Whenever an adversary gets too near, it’s said that the ship summons whirlpools, presumably due to Hinozuki’s potential Devil Fruit powers, according to Laffitte.

Things were progressing smoothly until Lafitte decided to tell his captain how Kuzan’s Devil Fruit was so powerful. Unfortunately for them, the ex-Admiral overheard them and immediately got into battle mode. Once again, he froze several members of the crew. The remaining members thought it was a good idea to hunt Kuzan, but Blackbeard had other plans. He asked Kuzan to join the crew rather than fight him. The former Marine laughed it off, but Blackbeard reiterated that they didn’t need to be friends to sail together. All they needed was a common goal. On August 18, 2024, One Piece Episode 1116 will air, and it’s titled “Buggy’s Grand Announcement.” In this episode, Buggy is set to make an unexpected announcement that leaves Crocodile and Mihawk astounded. This Yonko will disclose his ambition to seize the One Piece, a daring move for a character often seen as comedic relief. However, it appears Buggy might experience a significant transformation in this episode.

Even though Mihawk and Crocodile had been roughing him up, Buggy mustered the strength to express his emotions to his subordinates. Their leaders, Crocodile and Mihawk, won’t be happy with Buggy’s choice, likely resulting in another beating for him. However, his crew members will be ecstatic upon hearing their captain’s ambition to secure the One Piece. Although the fight wasn’t explicitly mentioned in the sneak peek, it appears that the upcoming episode won’t merely focus on the current situation at Buggy’s hideout. Given the brutal beating Kuzan received from Garp in the last episode, it’s unlikely that such a beating would have incapacitated him for long. Instead, we can expect Kuzan to rise again, and the battle on Hachinosu will carry on. The intriguing aspect will be whether or not the other powerful captains decide to intervene in this conflict as well.
