One Piece Episode 1156 Release Date

This post contains spoilers for One Piece.

The One Piece anime recently concluded its Egghead arc before a short break. The arc was a thrilling and moving experience for viewers. It introduced the brilliant scientist Dr. Vegapunk and his unique satellites, who quickly became fan favorites. Adding to the excitement, the usually secretive Five Elders became involved, raising the stakes as they showcased their abilities for the first time in the series.

The Five Elders were incredibly powerful, almost destroying everyone on the island. The Straw Hats would have been defeated too, if not for Emet and the giants, who helped them save Lilith, escape the island, and set sail for Elbaf.

One Piece Episode 1156 Release Date

  • One Piece Episode 1156 will air on April 5
  • It marks the beginning of the Elbaf arc

Okay, One Piece fans, get ready! Episode 1156 is finally dropping on April 5, 2026, and the title – “The Long-Sought Elbaph! The Big Reunion Banquet” – sounds amazing! What’s really exciting is that this episode kicks off a whole new era for the anime. We’ve been getting weekly episodes for years, but as announced in 2025, things are changing to a seasonal format now, which should give the animators time to really deliver something special!

“I’m Luffy. I’m the man who will be the King of the Pirates.”

The announcement surprised most fans, who weren’t anticipating changes to One Piece. However, they eventually accepted it, realizing it would ultimately improve the series.

Episode 1156 of One Piece will follow the Straw Hat Pirates as they journey towards Elbaf, the island inhabited by giants. Fans have been eagerly awaiting this destination for years, and it’s finally happening. Nico Robin and Usopp are particularly excited about reaching Elbaf. For Robin, it’s a chance to potentially see Jaguar D. Saul, the man she believed died saving her during the destruction of Ohara. Recent revelations in the Egghead arc, from Vegapunk, confirmed that Saul is actually still alive.

When the Straw Hats arrive at Elbaf, Robin will finally get to see Saul again. For Usopp, it’s a long-awaited trip to the home of Dorry and Brogy. He’s been incredibly impressed with their adventurous spirit ever since meeting them in Little Garden, and has been eager to visit Elbaf ever since.

Honestly, I don’t think we’re going to see either of those big moments in Episode 1156 of One Piece. It looks like we’ll all just have to hang tight and be patient for what’s coming next!

One Piece Will Only Release 26 Episodes

One Piece fans should keep in mind that the anime releases 26 episodes annually, split into two parts of 13 episodes each. After each set of 13 episodes, the anime will pause before continuing with new episodes in 2027.

The anime is adapting roughly one chapter of the manga per episode. While this isn’t the fastest pace, it’s an improvement over previous seasons. At this rate, we can expect the Elbaf arc to conclude around 2027.

Because the story is still developing in the manga, anime viewers might have to wait quite a while longer to see the Elbaf arc reach its most exciting point.

One Piece episode 1156 will feature brand new opening and ending themes. The opening song, ‘Luminous,’ is performed by AiNA THE END, and the ending song, ‘That Future,’ is by Jisoku 36km. It’s fitting that the anime is returning with new music after being off the air for a while.
