Imu is currently the most powerful character in One Piece. Their strength is unbelievable, and they effectively control the world. Imu remains a huge mystery, but we’ve seen them perform incredible feats – from turning people into demons to instantly teleporting them anywhere. Even more frightening, Imu can control anyone affected by their powers, completely overriding their free will.
Imu is a frighteningly powerful figure who initially appears to have almost no vulnerabilities. However, as the story unfolds, we’re beginning to discover some weaknesses, offering a glimmer of hope for those who oppose them. While Imu has very few known weaknesses, making them incredibly difficult to defeat, they aren’t unbeatable. Here’s a breakdown of everything we currently know about Imu’s vulnerabilities, the supreme ruler of the world.
5. Conqueror’s Haki
One Power Which Scares Imu To Their Core
Haki is a powerful ability introduced after the time skip in the series, and training it can significantly increase anyone’s strength. There are three different types of Haki, with Conqueror’s Haki being the most potent. We saw its incredible power during Luffy’s battle with Kaido, where he used it to defeat the King of the Beasts. This advanced form of Conqueror’s Haki doesn’t just physically impact opponents like Imu; it also weakens their abilities, as demonstrated when Joy Boy’s Haki was unleashed by Emet to protect the Straw Hats. Imu’s visible fear confirmed that this remains a vulnerability, even after 800 years.
4. Holy Knights
The Physical Manifestation Of Imu’s Divine Judgement
Imu controls the world from the shadows, keeping their true identity a secret. They maintain this control through a vast organization that carries out their wishes. A key part of this organization is the Holy Knights, who act as Imu’s dedicated enforcers and will do anything to obey them. These Knights are incredibly powerful, possessing Devil Fruit abilities and effectively being immortal. Normal attacks can’t harm them – only those with advanced Conqueror’s Haki can break through their immortality. Imu has revealed that the death of a Holy Knight weakens them significantly, highlighting a major vulnerability.
3. Loki’s Devil Fruit Legendary
Devil Fruit Which Is A Counter To Imu’s Powers
Image by Viz Media Loki has quickly become a fan-favorite and incredibly powerful character. Though first seen in Elbaf and hinted at during the Whole Cake Island arc, his Devil Fruit ability remains a mystery. It’s rumored to be a legendary fruit, a prized treasure of Elbaf, and so potent that even Imu desired it. This was demonstrated when Imu controlled Harald and showed opposition to Loki’s plan to consume the fruit. After eating it, Loki surpassed Harald in strength, potentially explaining why the Holy Knights sought to recruit him. This new power proved fatal to Harald and even harmed Imu.
2. Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika
A Devil Fruit Which Reminds Of Imu’s Greatest Enemy
Joy Boy was a legendary figure – the first pirate to sail the seas and the most powerful person of his era. He was so strong that even the enigmatic Imu was afraid of him. It took a massive alliance of over fifteen nations, along with Imu’s own power, to finally defeat him. Joy Boy’s incredible abilities came from a special Devil Fruit that allowed him to transform into a godlike being. After his defeat, the World Government erased all records of Joy Boy and his Devil Fruit from history. When Luffy later awakened this same fruit, the Gorosei admitted they had repeatedly tried and failed to obtain it, proving Imu’s fear of its power. To further conceal its true nature, the Government even changed the fruit’s name.
1. The Gororsei
The Ones Who Serve Only To Please Their Master
The Gorosei used to be seen as the most powerful leaders of the World Government, and their decisions heavily influenced events. However, the introduction of Imu revealed their actual role: they serve as Imu’s servants. The Gorosei are deeply connected to Imu, and their extended lives seem to depend on the power Imu grants them. Just as harming a Holy Knight affects Imu, defeating a Gorosei could also weaken Imu, potentially offering a way to defeat them.
