One Piece: Every Rocks Pirate Who Started Their Own Crew

This article contains spoilers for the One Piece manga.

As a true aficionado, I’d say: Among all the pirate crews that have ever set sail on the Grand Line, none are as legendary as the Rocks Pirates! Led by the daring Rocks D. Xebec, we were a force to be reckoned with. But after the tumultuous events at God Valley, our crew disbanded, and each member went their own way. Some even established their own crews, becoming terrifying pirate captains in their own right!

Ochoku

Captain of Unnamed Pirate Crew

During the “Two-Year Timeskip” in One Piece, a well-known pirate named Ochoku, also recognized by some as Wang Zhi, played a significant role in an incident at Rocky Port. This significant event brought together notable characters such as Blackbeard, Koby, Trafalgar Law, and of course, Ochoku.

On Pirate Island, following Rocks’ departure or demise, Ochoku assumed leadership, having previously sailed alongside him. Though not expressly mentioned, it seems improbable that he claimed the island alone. Later, Ochoku faced defeat at the hands of Blackbeard, with assistance from Law and Koby.

Captain John

Captain of Unnamed Pirate Crew

It’s important to note that Captain John is not a fresh character in “One Piece”. In fact, we were first introduced to him much earlier during the arc at Thriller Bark, where he was among the General Zombies.

Prior to this, Captain John had been associated with the Rocks Pirates. Following their dissolution, and until his demise, he established his own pirate team which ultimately resulted in his undoing. This unnamed pirate gang was responsible for his fall from grace. Unfortunately, his own men betrayed him, leading to his untimely death at their hands.

Shiki

The Captain of the Golden Lion Pirates

Shiki, the famed Golden Lion pirate, was no ordinary sea rover. He had already earned respect among the Rocks Pirates and made a lasting impression beyond them. Before Luffy came into play, Shiki was the solitary soul known to have successfully escaped from Impel Down, an accomplishment so remarkable it left many in awe.

The group of pirates led by Shiki goes by the name “The Golden Lion Pirates,” yet there’s not a great deal of information available about them. At present, Shiki appears to be the most significant character within this crew, but he is currently absent from the narrative.

Kaido

The Captain of the Beast Pirates

In his time with the Rocks Pirates, Kaido was still green, having not yet reached adulthood. Compared to seasoned pirates like Whitebeard and Big Mom, he was overshadowed. Yet, following those years, Kaido earned the title of the Strongest Creature in the World.

Alternatively phrased, it was during the Wano incidents that both Luffy and his companions managed to defeat the Beast Pirates, a formidable enemy group led by him. To date, they have been among the most intimidating adversaries encountered in the world of One Piece.

Big Mom

The Captain of the Big Mom Pirates

Amongst the Rocks Pirates, Big Mom stood out as one of the most powerful members. Even after their disbandment, she continued to hold significance, particularly following the time jump in One Piece. In reality, Charlotte Linlin was not just a member but rather the leader of the Yonko, heading the Big Mom Pirates. Her pirate crew was primarily composed of her offspring, making her quite formidable.

Although Kid and Law managed to defeat her during the Wano arc, her present whereabouts remain a mystery, causing speculation among fans as to whether she’ll reappear in the narrative.

Whitebeard

The Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates

During his time with the Rocks Pirates, Whitebeard was an immense force to reckon with. Newgate, who wasn’t far behind in terms of power, particularly stood out due to the fact that he had already obtained the Devil Fruit known as the Gura Gura no Mi at that point in time.

Following his dissolution, Whitebeard’s reputation grew even further, earning him the title of “The Strongest Man in the World.” This powerful pirate captain led the formidable Whitebeard Pirates, one of the strongest crews ever known. Unfortunately, Whitebeard met his end during the Marineford War, and after the Grudge War, the Whitebeard Pirates disbanded. However, they left an indelible impact on the world of One Piece.
