This updated version aimed to enhance the arc initially animated over a decade ago, not just by refining the animation quality but also by adjusting the pace of the narrative.

The updated edition has undoubtedly sparked renewed enthusiasm among many fans for this underappreciated storyline. On the positive side, the Fishman Island Remaster has generally been well-received. However, the latest episode has caused a bit of a stir among viewers due to certain contentious issues.

Certainly, numerous fans of “One Piece” are displeased by a significant alteration that has been introduced. The most impactful scene during this storyline was undeniably when Luffy unleashed his Red Hawk attack against Hody Jones. In the initial animation, Ace was present in this sequence too; the Red Hawk is symbolic of Luffy’s brother and signifies Luffy’s determination to prevent any more losses, especially after devoting two years to training.

So, it seems like this change is a step towards maintaining the authenticity of the storyline as per the source material.
