Sanji is the cook for the Straw Hat Pirates, responsible for keeping the crew fed and energized. However, like the rest of his crewmates, he’s also a capable fighter when necessary.
Sanji has defeated numerous strong enemies throughout his journey, which explains his bounty exceeding 1 billion berries. However, even with all his accomplishments, there are still many characters in the world of One Piece who would easily defeat him.

6. Silvers Rayleigh
- Affiliation: Roger Pirates
Man, Silvers Rayleigh was incredible! He wasn’t just second-in-command to the Pirate King, Roger – he was a legend in his own right, seriously feared by everyone. People even called him the “Dark King” – that tells you how much respect and terror he commanded! Being Roger’s most trusted and loyal crewmate, he was unbelievably powerful, a true force to be reckoned with.
Even as an older man, Rayleigh remains incredibly powerful, as demonstrated by his battle with Kizaru. Kizaru himself stated he couldn’t defeat Rayleigh alone. Rayleigh is considered one of the most skilled Haki users in the One Piece world, having fully mastered all three types. He’s also a highly skilled swordsman. Considering all of this, Sanji currently has no chance of winning against Rayleigh. And if Rayleigh can defeat Sanji, Gaban would easily be able to as well.
5. Shanks
- Affiliation: Red Hair Pirates
Shanks leads the Red Hair Pirates and is considered one of the most powerful characters in the world of One Piece. He’s a naturally gifted fighter who has fully mastered all forms of Haki, including their most advanced techniques.
Shanks is exceptionally skilled with Conqueror’s Haki, powerful enough to even prevent opponents from using their ability to see into the future. This severely weakens anyone he fights, giving him a huge advantage. His combined use of Armament and Conqueror’s Haki also makes his attacks incredibly destructive and almost impossible to defend against. In a fight between Shanks and Sanji, Sanji wouldn‘t stand a chance.
4. Figarland Shamrock
- Affiliation: Holy Knights
St. Figarland Shamrock is the son of Figarland Garling and serves as a Commander of the Holy Knights. He first became prominent during the Elbaf arc, where he tried to recruit Loki into the Holy Knights, but Loki refused. This led to Shamrock attacking him.

Shamrock attacked Loki with his sword, which possessed the power of the Cerberus Mythical Zoan fruit. Because Loki was already chained up, he couldn’t effectively defend himself. After inflicting significant damage, Shamrock departed Elbaf. As things stand, Sanji has no chance of defeating Shamrock.
3. Boa Hancock
- Affiliation: Kuja Pirates
Boa Hancock leads the Kuja Pirates and rules Amazon Lily as its Empress. The World Government recognized her strength after her initial journey and immediately invited her to join the Shichibukai. Many others besides the government also acknowledge Boa Hancock as a remarkably skilled fighter.
Both Sengoku and Blackbeard have acknowledged Hancock’s incredible power, and rightfully so. She has the Mero Mero no Mi, a Devil Fruit that lets her manipulate the lustful feelings of others. On top of that, Hancock is a master of Haki, putting her on par with the strongest fighters. Sanji wouldn’t be able to defeat Hancock for two key reasons: he refuses to fight women, and she’s simply much stronger than him.
2. Kuzan
- Affiliation: Blackbeard Pirates
I remember hearing that Kuzan was once a Marine Admiral – basically, one of their top fighters. Even before that, he trained with Garp, which made him incredibly strong and durable. He also ate the Hie Hie no Mi, a rare Devil Fruit that gave him the power to create and control ice whenever he wanted.
Kuzan is able to quickly freeze large areas of water, which lets him easily travel across the ice.
Given his impressive fighting skills, it’s likely Kuzan has eaten a Devil Fruit. He also clearly knows how to use Haki effectively – otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to withstand a multi-day battle against Sakazuki, even while at a disadvantage. Currently, Sanji wouldn’t be able to win against Kuzan, but that could change as Sanji grows stronger.
1. Loki
- Affiliation: Elbaf
Okay, so Loki is seriously incredible! He’s a giant from Elbaf, but not just any giant – he’s a prince and one of the strongest characters in the whole One Piece world. What’s really mind-blowing is his size – he’s way bigger than even regular giants, and that size translates directly into insane strength and the ability to take a beating. Basically, he hits harder and can withstand way more damage than almost anyone else!
Loki consumed the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhöggr, a powerful Devil Fruit that lets him transform into the dragon from Norse legends. This allows him to unleash devastating lightning attacks and tear opponents apart with his massive claws. A fight between Loki and Sanji would be incredibly brutal, and Sanji would be fortunate to survive with minimal injuries.
