It’s introduced Imu, who seems to be the strongest character yet, as the big bad, and honestly, fans are a bit lost about where things are headed. Currently, the focus is on Loki’s backstory, and we’re gradually learning more about his past.

After the flashback concludes, the story will return to the major conflicts surrounding Imu. We’ve already seen a preview of Imu’s abilities, and it’s clear they possess a powerful Devil Fruit. In fact, Oda has strongly suggested what those powers are.

Most *One Piece* fans didn’t expect Imu to appear as the main villain in Elbaf, and Oda surprised everyone by making it happen. We already know Luffy is basically the Sun God Nika, but it’s becoming super clear that Imu has God-level powers too, probably from a Devil Fruit. Oda really dropped hints when Imu showed up in Elbaf – they straight-up *said* they’d show everyone the power of a God! That pretty much confirms it, right? It’s going to be epic!

Imu’s appearance strongly suggests they are fundamentally a demonic being. Features like black wings, a pointed tail, and a trident hint at this nature. While this might not be their usual form, it’s definitely a powerful display of what they are. Considering all the evidence, it’s possible to figure out what type of Devil Fruit Imu possesses.

Imu Could Have The Leviathan Devil Fruit

Oda has hinted at what Imu’s power might be, and the most likely explanation is that it’s related to the Leviathan – a massive sea serpent from mythology. The Leviathan’s mouth is said to be the Abyss, which matches the symbol Imu uses. More importantly, the Leviathan can control souls, giving and taking them, just like Imu, who can seemingly grant immortality by extending life or even taking a portion of someone’s lifespan or soul. If Oda has already revealed Imu’s Devil Fruit power, the Leviathan ability is almost certainly it.
