One Piece: Oda Hints At A Second War Like Marineford Happening Soon

As a seasoned One Piece enthusiast, I can’t help but draw parallels between the valiant actions of our beloved characters and the unfolding events on Pirate Island. The sacrifice Garp made for his protege mirrors Ace’s heroic act for Luffy – two giants of the Marine and Pirate worlds, standing firm in their convictions.

The climactic Final Saga of One Piece unfolds with high energy, as fans anticipate the culmination of all significant conflicts. Here, Oda will tie up loose ends definitively, and the title of Pirate King will be bestowed upon someone. Consequently, the impending war against the government will also ensue, promising an array of thrilling events for fans to eagerly await.

Prior to the conflict against the World Government, it appears a significant battle is imminent, primarily involving one of the Sea’s Four Emperors, Blackbeard. Notably, Blackbeard was deeply engaged in the earlier war, referred to as the Summit War, which took place before the timeskip. This time, he finds himself back in the thick of things, poised to initiate another potential conflict.

How A Massive Capture Led To The Summit War In One Piece

  • Ace Sought Out Blackbeard
  • Blackbeard Defeated Ace

The Summit War transpired prior to the timeskip in the narrative of One Piece. This conflict signified the culmination of the initial storyline and was instigated by Blackbeard assassinating a fellow crew member and seizing the Yami Yami no Mi from him. In cold blood, Blackbeard murdered Thatch, the 4th Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates. This murder set Ace on a pursuit to apprehend Blackbeard, leading him all the way to the earth’s end.

If I bowed down to you, there was no point in being born, you idiot! – Ace

To safeguard Luffy, Ace felt compelled to confront Blackbeard head-on, and he put up a fierce battle with every ounce of strength. It was evident that Ace was no ordinary adversary for Blackbeard; instead, he demonstrated his extraordinary abilities, managing not only to injure Blackbeard but also Blackbeard’s entire crew simultaneously. The encounter left both Blackbeard and Ace severely wounded. Nevertheless, the enigma surrounding Blackbeard’s race, coupled with the immense power of the Yami Yami no Mi ultimately led to Ace’s defeat. As a result, he was handed over to the government, an outcome they considered remarkable.

The reason for this turn of events was because the World Government had long sought to apprehend Ace, given his connection to the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. They discovered rather belatedly that Roger actually had a surviving child, whom they identified as Ace. Consequently, Ace’s execution was scheduled and the Great Marine War erupted. During this conflict, Whitebeard Pirates, along with their 41 allies, launched an assault on the Marine Headquarters and left it in ruins. As the war concluded, Ace sacrificed himself to shield his brother, Luffy, and perished in battle. Tragically, the legendary Yonko, Whitebeard, also met his end during the fighting. Shanks ultimately brought an end to the conflict, thus marking the close of the first half of One Piece’s narrative.

How Garp’s Capture Could Trigger A Major War

Garp Finds Himself In A Position Similar To Ace

One Piece: Oda Hints At A Second War Like Marineford Happening Soon

Just as Ace’s capture set off a significant war in One Piece, it seems that Garp is facing a similar predicament. The capture of Garp on the Pirate Island might lead to a larger conflict as well. Fans will recall that Ace fought Blackbeard to shield his younger brother Luffy. Similarly, Garp engaged the Pirate Island to protect his protégé and was unable to withdraw from the fight, much like Ace could not retreat from his battle. After rescuing Koby successfully, Garp had no choice but to surrender himself – a parallel to how Ace sacrificed himself for Luffy’s safety.

Listen, guys! You are all the future of the Navy! – Garp

In Impel Down, Blackbeard made it clear to Luffy that he should be expressing gratitude towards Ace. Without Ace’s intervention, it would have been Luffy who was standing on the execution platform instead. Similarly, Garp saved Koby, and now, Koby is being manipulated by Blackbeard.

Regarding Blackbeard’s intentions, it seems fans have been anticipating his plans for some time now. Blackbeard aims to barter Garp with the World Government in exchange for official recognition of Hachinosu as a sovereign nation. He envisions himself as its monarch, granting him access to the Reverie and the authority to rule like any other king in the One Piece universe. However, given that this proposition would likely disrupt the existing power structure, the World Government is unlikely to comply.

As a gamer, I can understand Blackbeard’s perspective that the World Government might accept the deal, but it could lead to disastrous consequences. They might interpret this as a declaration of war, which they can’t afford to seem weak against. That’s why I think the World Government is likely to launch an attack on Pirate Island to rescue Garp. This would be quite the opposite of what happened during the Paramount War, where pirates attacked the Marines in a bid to save a fellow pirate. Here, the Marines will be attacking Pirate Island, with their objective being none other than saving Garp. Things are about to get messy, but it’s also going to make for an incredibly exciting game!

The Result Of The Upcoming Major War

The Marines Might Lose The Upcoming Major War Against The Blackbeard Pirates

Predicting who will emerge victorious in the impending major war on Pirate Island, reminiscent of Marineford, is extremely challenging due to its unpredictable nature. The approaching conflict may bear some resemblance to the previous one, but if Oda continues with similar themes as seen in the Paramount War Arc, it seems probable that Garp might sacrifice himself for someone like Koby, or another character could potentially lose their life during this upcoming battle.

Concurrently, Pirate Island will be left in ruins, prompting Blackbeard to take action. The Marines emerged victorious from the Paramount war, but this success may pave the way for their downfall during the imminent conflict aimed at defending and rescuing Garp. It’s possible that Oda intends this turn of events or maybe there’s a twist yet to be revealed for the audience.
