One Piece: Oda Introduces Two New Yonko Level Characters

The story of “One Piece” progressed into its final chapter with the Egghead Island arc, and now, the Straw Hat Pirates have journeyed to Elbaf, preparing for a fierce battle. In between these events, Oda introduced one of the most captivating flashbacks yet, delving into the histories of King Harald, Loki, and Rocks D. Xebec.

Amidst the turmoil that’s been unfolding, Oda has surprisingly showcased several characters who can be compared to those at the Yonko level. Among these notable individuals are Shanks’s close family members, specifically Figarland Shamrock and his twin brother, as well as Figarland Garling, their father. Although we haven’t witnessed them in their full fighting capacity yet, they are highly regarded as formidable fighters.

Readers found it astonishing in The Final Saga that Shanks, our character, actually has a twin brother known as Figarland Shamrock. Strikingly similar in appearance, they share the same face, yet their dispositions and ambitions stand worlds apart. While Shanks chose the pirate’s life, Shamrock aligns with the World Government, serving among the Holy Knights – an elite group wielding immense power within the One Piece universe.

It’s likely that Shamrock, though yet to show his full potential due to being away from Elbaf, is on par with Shanks in terms of strength, given that it would be implausible for him to fall short in the storyline. Moreover, Shamrock himself claims to surpass Loki in power, implying a similar standing to Shanks.

Figarland Garling Is a Member Of The Five Elders Now

In a narrative twist, we encounter another significant character from the Figarland lineage named Figarland Garling, who has been impressively portrayed by Oda. As predicted, he is none other than the father of Shanks and Shamrock. With an illustrious past, he once headed the Holy Knights, a position he held until very recently. Following Saturn’s demise in Egghead, Garling was elevated to the esteemed rank of Gorosei. The Gorosei are known for their extraordinary power and even immortality, suggesting that Garling may be the most formidable among the five.

Previously, Garling had clashed with formidable figures from the world of One Piece, such as Rocks D. Xebec or Roger, who were among the most powerful on God Valley. Such encounters lead fans to speculate that he could potentially match the might of a Yonko, and perhaps even surpass them, reaching the stature of the Pirate King. Fans eagerly anticipate Garling’s role in the story during this final saga, as they have high hopes for his character.
