This article contains spoilers for One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.
The anime and manga series *One Piece* is now in the Elbaf arc, and viewers can expect the story to become even more dramatic. While Elbaf has already delivered major plot twists, it’s also subtly hinted at even bigger events to come that will have a huge impact on the world.
The Elbaf arc in *One Piece* is shaping up to be huge, and things are about to escalate even further. The next developments will likely involve major players like Blackbeard and the Marines, and there’s a strong possibility we’ll see a key Marine Admiral die.
The Navy Is Finally Involved In Big Battles

- The Navy Will Have To Confront Enemies Like The Revolutionary Army And The Cross Guild
- The Admirals Will Be Called Into Action
Early on in *One Piece*, the Marines didn’t play a huge role, which was logical. The Navy’s strongest fighters, the Admirals, were incredibly powerful, so it wouldn’t have made sense to use them as the main villains right away. They were essentially unbeatable at that point. But that’s changed with the Final Saga of *One Piece*.

As Luffy and his peers become increasingly powerful, it’s natural that the Navy’s top fighters, like the Admirals, are getting more involved. We saw Kizaru challenged by Luffy at Egghead, and it seems likely we’ll see other Admirals face off against powerful threats, especially Blackbeard, in the future.

A Battle Between Light And Darkness Is Fated

Blackbeard, one of the Four Emperors, is believed to be carrying on the legacy of Rocks D. Xebec. Rocks’ goal was to dominate the pirate world, dismantle the Marines, and ultimately become the ruler of everything, even surpassing the mysterious Imu. Blackbeard shares a similar ambition – he already controls Pirate Island and aims to become King of the World. Like Rocks before him, he’s likely to target the Marines, and it seems he’ll do so in the near future.

The Revolutionary Army’s actions, particularly their siege of Marijoa and ongoing attacks on ships, are creating the perfect chance for Blackbeard to make a move. With Fujitora unable to operate from Navy bases and Ryokugyu probably occupied elsewhere, Sakazuki will likely lead the Navy’s response against the Revolutionaries, supported by the Holy Knights. This will leave Kizaru defending New Marineford, making it a vulnerable target. If Blackbeard is strategic, he’ll exploit this weakness to attack, seize the base, and potentially defeat Kizaru.
Blackbeard Will Attack New Marineford

Blackbeard attacking New Marineford would be a powerful statement. Similar to what Rocks did, he could break through the Gates of Justice and then target the Navy’s main base. This could even lead to Kizaru being captured, and fans speculate we might see a shocking double execution of both Kizaru and Garp.
The newest chapter of One Piece, number 1163, will be released in two weeks, as usual on a Sunday. While it becomes available in Japan at midnight on Monday (JST), most fans around the world will be able to read it on October 26, 2025. You can read the chapter for free on Manga Plus.
