This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf arc.
Devil Fruits are exceptionally strong, granting whoever consumes them incredible abilities, but at the cost of being able to swim. These fruits fall into three main categories – Logia, Paramecia, and Zoan – each offering different types of powers. However, there’s a strict rule: a person can only ever eat one Devil Fruit. The author has made it clear that consuming more than one will result in fatal consequences – the person’s body will explode.
There’s usually a limit to how many Devil Fruit powers a person can have, but Marshall D. Teach is an exception – his body somehow allows him to wield more than one. However, Imu, the ruler of the world in *One Piece*, is even more unique. Oda has already revealed that Imu possesses multiple powers, and we’ll likely see even more of their abilities revealed later in the story.
Imu Can Use More Than Two Devil Fruit Powers
Imu Has Access To Their Own Demonic Power

- Imu Can Use Gunko’s Arrow Abilities
- Imu Can Also Give And Take Powers From Their Slaves
Many One Piece fans are curious about how and when Imu demonstrated powers from more than one Devil Fruit. However, the answer is actually already revealed in the story, and Oda has confirmed it. Imu possesses their own unique ability, which appears to be that of the Demon God.
Allow Mu to show thee the dominance of a God! — Imu
In the world of *One Piece*, Imu has incredible powers, including the ability to grow wings, wield a trident, and cast spells – allowing them to accomplish seemingly impossible feats. Fans first witnessed these abilities during the Elbaf arc, leading many to believe they are connected to Imu’s Devil Fruit power. However, this is likely just one piece of Imu’s full potential, as there are hints of even greater powers yet to be revealed.

Fans have figured out that Imu can possess other people. We’ve already seen Imu take control of Gunko, which means Imu has access to all of Gunko’s abilities, including the power of the Aro Aro no Mi, whenever they want. Imu can either use their own unique power while inside Gunko’s body, or they can utilize the Aro Aro no Mi’s dangerous ability. This gives Imu at least two different powers, but it’s likely they have even more.
Imu has the power to grant or take abilities from others, explaining how the Five Elders, Holy Knights, and even some Marines gain their powers. We’ve seen Imu demonstrate this directly – for example, they swiftly removed Saint Saturn’s ability and killed him. It’s believed Imu originally gave the elders their abilities, and can utilize any power they’ve collected, making them incredibly versatile and dangerous.
I shall bestow upon thee the power of evil! — Imu
How Imu Having Multiple Powers Affects The Final Saga Of One Piece
Imu Is Currently The Strongest In The World

Imu stands out in the world of *One Piece* because they can wield the powers of multiple Devil Fruits – a rare ability with no apparent drawbacks. This essentially makes Imu the most powerful character in the series. What’s more, Imu can even share these powers with other people.
Imu is overwhelmingly the most powerful character in One Piece, and the upcoming Elbaf arc will showcase their strength. When facing Luffy, Imu is expected to use a variety of powers, including the incredibly strong Demon God ability and the Aro Aro no Mi. They likely have even more hidden abilities, potentially unlocked through a special spellbook.
The next chapter of One Piece, chapter 1161, will be released in two weeks on a Sunday. In Japan, it will become available at midnight on Monday, September 28, 2025. Fans can read it for free on Manga Plus.
