This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf arc.
The anime and manga series One Piece is now focusing on the Elbaf arc, where the creator, Oda, is sharing crucial details about some of history’s most formidable pirates. The story is currently immersed in a flashback to God Valley, filled with important revelations and exciting action sequences. Many fans consider this the highlight of the Elbaf arc so far, and while future developments may be even more impressive, the depiction of the legendary Rocks D. Xebec and his crew will likely remain a memorable part of the series.
Chapter 1163 of One Piece finally revealed the intense battle in God Valley! We saw Saint Imu Nerona taking control of Saint Saturn and going all out against some of the series’ strongest characters. The chapter also showed what was happening across the entire battlefield, including the remaining members of the Rocks Pirates, the Roger Pirates, the Marines, and even slaves. During all the chaos, the author, Oda, officially revealed two Devil Fruit users: Captain John and Ganzui, both members of the Rocks Pirates. In the midst of battle, they both demonstrated their unique Paramecia abilities, proving their strength.

Major Reveals Made In One Piece Chapter 1163
- Ganzui Had The Bomu Bomu no Mi
- Captain John Had The Jiki Jiki no Mi
Chapter 1163 of One Piece revealed that Captain John previously possessed the Jiki Jiki no Mi, the same Devil Fruit currently used by Eustass Kid. This Paramecia-type fruit grants its user the ability to manipulate magnetic forces.

This ability lets the user control magnetism and apply it to objects, making the fruit exceptionally powerful. Fans previously guessed Captain John possessed this Devil Fruit after seeing his metal arm, and that theory has now been proven correct.
Fans recently learned that Ganzui, another member of the Rocks Pirates, also had the power of a Devil Fruit. He possessed the Bomu Bomu no Mi, a fruit previously seen in One Piece. This fruit once belonged to Mr. 5, a villain from the Arabasta Saga’s Whiskey Peak arc. After Ganzui’s death, the fruit reappeared and was later consumed by Mr. 5.

Both Ganzui And Captain John Are Dead
The Devil Fruits Have New Users Now
Most fans are aware that both Ganzui and Captain John have passed away. The circumstances of Ganzui’s death remain a mystery, but Captain John was reportedly murdered by his crew in a treacherous act. His body was found with multiple swords embedded in it, suggesting a violent mutiny. However, considering his Devil Fruit ability, it’s also possible his death was accidental.
Both of their Devil Fruits have found new owners. Eustass Kid now possesses the Jiki Jiki no Mi, and has even unlocked its full potential, while Mr. 5 continues to use the Bomu Bomu no Mi effectively.
The newest chapter of One Piece is coming out this week, as it typically does on Sundays. While it becomes available in Japan at midnight on Monday (JST), most international fans will be able to read it on October 26th. The chapter will be available to read for free on Manga Plus.
