The final arc of One Piece has introduced incredibly powerful new characters, and the story’s setting in Elbaf has really allowed the creator, Oda, to showcase them – including the formidable Holy Knights and the world’s true ruler, Imu. The stakes are higher than ever in One Piece, with Imu positioned as the central antagonist of this entire storyline.
To counter this danger, Oda needed to introduce incredibly powerful fighters who would support the Warland Elbaf, and he’s done so by presenting what many consider the strongest pair in the world of One Piece. In Chapter 1174, Oda officially revealed Luffy and Loki – a duo capable of destroying any nation.

The foundation for the relationship between Luffy and Loki was established early in the Elbaf Arc. Soon after arriving in the Underworld, Luffy and the Straw Hats detected a powerful presence, which turned out to be Loki. Despite Loki initially appearing as a villainous figure, Luffy was immediately drawn to him, and they quickly connected. Since then, One Piece has developed their bond, and although Loki doesn’t outwardly seem to reciprocate Luffy’s affection, it’s clear they’re an incredibly strong team that will likely play a significant role as the arc progresses.
Luffy unintentionally caused Loki’s release, and now the two have teamed up. This marks the first time in 800 years that this ancient dragon and the Sun God Nika are fighting as allies, and their confrontation with Imu promises to be an incredible battle.

In One Piece chapter 1174, events in the land of the Giants mirrored what was happening elsewhere, as Loki used his lightning to strike Elbaf, causing the entire country to tremble with the sound of freedom. Luffy and Loki teamed up and flew into the sky, and it will be their job to rescue Elbaf from Imu’s control. Their combined strength is incredible and far beyond anything seen before, suggesting they are powerful enough to defeat any opponent, even someone as formidable as Imu.
