This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.
Summary
- Luffy is confirmed as the Sun God Nika in Wano after awakening his Devil Fruit.
- Shirahoshi is revealed to be the Sea God Poseidon, holding the power to sink the world.
- Imu remains the mysterious Earth God in hiding, with the Forest God’s identity unknown.
In recent developments within the world of One Piece, the notion of divine entities was introduced not so long ago. Since then, Eiichiro Oda has been fleshing out this concept extensively. The arc in Wano presented some formidable deities for viewers, and subsequent arcs have further developed this narrative, occasionally introducing additional layers of complexity to the idea.
In this current scenario, it’s common knowledge among fans that the One Piece universe houses several deities, with Luffy being one of them, specifically the Sun God. This character significantly influences the course of the world. Similarly to Luffy, there are three other gods present, and enthusiasts eagerly anticipate Oda delving deeper into their roles.
Sun God Nika Luffy Was Revealed During Wano
- Luffy Awakened The Gomu Gomu no Mi
- Luffy Is The Sun God Nika
In the Wano arc of the story, it became clear to fans that Luffy’s Devil Fruit was none other than the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, making him the Sun God Nika. This revelation flipped everything upside down as prior to this, the notion of Luffy being a god seemed far-fetched at best. It was after his defeat by Kaido that Luffy finally awakened his Devil Fruit’s power.

In the end, his physical self synchronized with his thoughts, propelling him to a higher plane. With this newfound consciousness, Luffy unlocked the power of Gear 5. Indeed, Gear 5 is one of the most astonishing abilities in One Piece, transforming Luffy into the Liberator. Although Luffy’s abilities are formidable, he is not the only divine entity in the narrative.
Sea God Shirahoshi Was Revealed During Fishman Island
Shirahoshi’s True Powers Awakened Recently
Fans of “One Piece” anticipate that the Ancient Weapons will be pivotal in the Final Saga, and they each bear divine titles. Interestingly, one of these ancient artifacts is named after the Sea God, Poseidon. It’s common knowledge among “One Piece” fans that the Sea God within the series is none other than Shirahoshi, who possesses the power to submerge the entire world if she so chooses. The fact that Shirahoshi is the Sea God doesn’t come as a shock to any fan of “One Piece”.

Earth God Imu Remains In Hiding
In essence, the character commonly referred to as the Earth God, is none other than Imu. This is due to the Five Elders being symbolically associated with celestial bodies within our solar system; Garling representing the moon, Luffy representing the sun, and the three Ancient Weapons representing the planets following the Elders. Since the remaining celestial body is Earth, it logically implies that Imu himself embodies the role of the Earth God. Additionally, this theory gains credence when considering Imu’s potential abilities, which may have led to a catastrophe hinted in the Harlequin tale.
The Forest God’s Identity Is Unknown
In the Elbaf arc of One Piece, the character known as the Forest God was briefly mentioned, but details about this figure remain unclear for fans. It’s been suggested that the Forest God could have been a scientist given their role in creating Devil Fruits, which is plausible considering the focus on science during the Void Century. Here’s hoping that the manga creator, Oda, will reveal more about the Forest God’s identity in the near future.
