This post contains spoilers for One Piece.
Enthusiasts of the popular series “One Piece” have long anticipated the climactic storyline known as the Final Saga. Their anticipation was not disappointed, as it has exceeded expectations across the board. The Final Saga has brought forth numerous character revelations and the power levels of many legendary figures have been unveiled, among them being Rocks D. Xebec.
Rocks D. Xebec Was The Strongest Pirate Of His Time
Rocks Terrorized The World Government
- Rocks D. Xebec was an elite swordsman
- He could use all three types of Haki
For the first time ever in the Elbaf arc, the identity of legendary pirate D. Xebec was unveiled. Though his name cropped up frequently throughout the narrative, his face remained a mystery, concealed behind silhouettes. It’s suspected that creator Oda kept this secret to preserve the shocking truth – that Rocks is actually Blackbeard’s father. As the story progressed into its Final Saga, Oda felt it was the perfect moment for fans to finally lay eyes on what Rocks truly looked like.
Apart from catching a glimpse of Rock’s visage, spectators were privy to his intriguing background and achievements as well. Known for his bravery, Rock boldly penetrated the fortress of Marijoa, capturing no less than five monarchs. He also inflicted a fatal wound on an Admiral before venturing into the Chamber of Flowers. There, he encountered Imu and vowed to return someday. Upon departing, Rock engaged in a fierce battle with Harald that culminated in an enormous blast, obliterating everything within several kilometers of the explosion site.

Rocks’ mastery over swordsmanship was unprecedented, with his swordsman attacks boasting an immense power capable of effortlessly demolishing large constructions. Needless to say, any human unfortunate enough to be struck by these attacks would sustain a severe injury. Rocks’ prodigious strength drew others to him, eventually resulting in the formation of the Rocks Pirates. However, there was one pirate whom Rocks could never defeat.
Joyboy Was Stronger Than Rocks D. Xebec

Vegapunk posits that Joyboy was history’s first pirate, a figure who championed liberty and freedom, ideals that the World Government vehemently opposed. It’s believed that Joyboy waged war against the oppressive regime, with Giants and Buccaneers by his side. Regrettably, Joyboy suffered defeat in battle, but his memory endured through ancient texts.
Fans haven’t yet witnessed Joyboy at his strongest, but they did catch a glimpse of his Haki during the Egghead arc. In this storyline, Joyboy had enclosed his Conqueror’s Haki within a knot for Emet and instructed the robot to use it when necessary. When Emet encountered the Gorosei on Egghead, he recognized that it was the perfect moment to untie the knot. Once it was released, an immense burst of Haki erupted from it, pushing four of the Gorosei back to Marijoa. Additionally, Imu sensed Joyboy’s presence through his Haki.
Given that Joyboy managed to push back four Godheads using his Haki, it’s clear that he currently holds the most impressive Haki display we’ve seen so far. Prior to Emet untying the knot, the Godheads were causing chaos all over Egghead Island, with no one able to control them. However, Joyboy’s Haki was powerful enough to bring the rampage to a halt.
Joyboy Is The Strongest Pirate In One Piece
Joyboy Was Head And Shoulders Above The Rest

Previously mentioned, Joyboy’s Haki was unrivaled among others, enabling him to utilize this powerful ability numerous times without any hindrance. Not only was Joyboy gifted with an extraordinary Haki, but he also possessed the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika – a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit that grants its user access to the ancient Sun God’s power. Given the demonstration of the fruit’s might by skilled users, it can be assumed that Joyboy also utilized this power to battle against Imu and his malevolent allies.
It seems quite probable that we’ll learn more about the character Joyboy in future story arcs since he plays a significant role in the history of One Piece. His origin story carries great importance and may be linked to that of Imu, which suggests it could unfold towards the conclusion of the series.
