As a seasoned One Piece enthusiast with countless hours spent poring over the Grand Line’s most intriguing characters, I must say that the Blackbeard Pirates are indeed quite the captivating bunch! Each member of this formidable crew has an extraordinary backstory and a Devil Fruit power that sets them apart from their peers.

Amongst the four most formidable pirate gangs in the world of One Piece, the Blackbeard Pirates stand out, guided by their charismatic captain, Blackbeard. In a swift ascent, they’ve managed to seize prominent positions within the pirate hierarchy. Post the Great Pirate Summit, this crew has taken on a new mission: tracking down powerful Devil Fruit users and appropriating their abilities.

One of the crew members on the Blackbeard Pirates is expected to have consumed a Devil Fruit after obtaining it. Notably, Oda has disclosed the powers of most, but not all, members of this crew, leaving some exceptions. As a result, we can compare and rank the pirates based on their Devil Fruit’s strength.

The ranking is based on how well the characters use their Devil Fruits.

7 Catarina Devon

Cat Devon, famously known as the most powerful female inmate at Impel Down, had not consumed a Devil Fruit before the time-skip event. Given this, it’s plausible that she took one from someone else. Cat Devon is the owner of the uncommon Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Kyubi no Kitsune, a Devil Fruit with extraordinary abilities.

As a devotee of this fascinating universe, I’d like to share my interpretation of the Devil Fruit, which seems reminiscent of the mythical nine-tailed fox, known for its shape-shifting abilities. Just like that legendary creature, Catarina Devon possesses the extraordinary power to transform into any individual she has physically come in contact with. Leveraging this unique power of the Devil Fruit, she cleverly assumed the form of Absalom to deceive Gecko Moria.

6 Van Augur

Devil Fruit: Wapu Wapu no Mi

Class: Paramecia

Blackbeard’s sharpshooter, Van Augur, is renowned for his exceptional marksmanship, demonstrated by his skill in hitting birds from distances of over 100 meters. Equipped with the Wapu Wapu no Mi, a devil fruit that grants him instant teleportation abilities, he can swiftly outmaneuver and surprise his opponents.

On numerous occasions, Van Augur’s skillset has proven invaluable. He once prevented his captain from plunging into the water, aided Kuzan in invading Whole Cake Island, and ultimately assisted Katarina Devon in approaching Saint Jaygarcia Saturn. Nevertheless, it should be noted that Van Augur is yet to fully master his Devil Fruit abilities.

5 Shiryu

Devil Fruit: Suke Suke no Mi

Prior to allying with the Blackbeard Pirates, Shiryu had served as the chief warden of Impel Down. However, due to his cruel treatment of prisoners, Magellan imprisoned him. It wasn’t until a riot broke out that Shiryu was released. Seizing this chance, he decided to support the Blackbeard Pirates and contributed to their success.

Shiryu possesses the Suke Suke no Mi, allowing him to turn invisible whenever he wants. The Devil Fruit makes it hard to detect Shiryu and protect against his attacks. So far, Shiryu hasn’t shown any problems while handling the Devil Fruit.

4 Avalo Pizarro

Devil Fruit: Shima Shima no Mi

Class: Paramecia

Avalo Pizarro was locked up on Level 6 within Impel Down. Under normal circumstances, it seemed impossible for him to break free, but everything shifted when Blackbeard stormed the compound with his band of pirates. Once he had defeated the other prisoners on Level 6, Avalo Pizarro opted to join Blackbeard’s crew.

Initially, Avalo Pizarro didn’t possess a Devil Fruit. Later, during a hunt for Devil Fruit users, he managed to acquire one – the Shima Shima no Mi. This fruit granted him power over an island. When the Marines led by Garp attacked Hachinosu, Avalo Pizarro turned out to be a significant annoyance for them. Over time, his control over the Shima Shima no Mi is expected to strengthen further.

3 Jesus Burgess

Devil Fruit: Riki Riki no Mi

Class: Paramecia

As a swashbuckling member of the Blackbeard Pirates, I’ve been sailing under the command of none other than Captain Jesus Burgess since before the fateful Impel Down raid. Unlike many of my shipmates, I don’t possess the mystical powers bestowed by a Devil Fruit, but that didn’t stop me from attempting to claim the Mera Mera no Mi for myself. Alas, fortune eluded me in that endeavor.

Over time, Burgess acquired the Riki Riki no Mi, a fruit that greatly enhanced his physical power. Now, he can effortlessly lift mountains using only his hands and hurl them at foes, showcasing his impressive mastery of the Devil Fruit’s abilities.

2 Kuzan

Devil Fruit: Hie Hie no Mi

Class: Logia

Previously serving as an Admiral, Kuzan subsequently joined the Blackbeard Pirates following his loss to Sakazuki. Throughout his tenure with the Navy, Kuzan garnered significant recognition. Moreover, during the Summit War, he was instrumental in shielding the island from colossal tsunamis instigated by Whitebeard.

Kuzan, undoubtedly, is a formidable combatant, skillfully utilizing his Devil Fruit’s potential. This became apparent during his battle with Garp on Hachinosu. He deceived Garp with a single attack and swiftly froze him afterwards. Additionally, his encounter with Sakazuki significantly altered the weather conditions over half of Punk Hazard.

1 Blackbeard

Devil Fruits: Gura Gura no Mi, Yami Yami no Mi

I’m a die-hard fan, and let me tell you about one of my favorite characters within the Blackbeard Pirates – Marshall D. Teach! Known as Blackbeard, he’s not only the captain but also the most formidable user of a Devil Fruit in our crew. Initially, he wielded just the Yami Yami no Mi, and boy, did he make it count! With this fruit’s power, Blackbeard managed to bring down Portgas D. Ace, a pirate with a staggering bounty of more than 500 million berries. To put it simply, he’s the real deal. His actions on Banaro Island speak volumes about his mastery over the Devil Fruit. He single-handedly destroyed an entire town, demonstrating the sheer power and skill he possesses!

Blackbeard’s second mystical fruit is the Gura Gura no Mi, rumored to possess the power to annihilate entire worlds. He acquired this ability during the events of Marineford, and at that time, he seemed unskilled in its use. However, after the timeskip, Blackbeard has clearly honed his command over the fruit, making him an even more formidable adversary than before.
