One Piece: The Final War Has Officially Begun

A large part of the One Piece story recently focused on old legends, especially those from the time of Roger, Rocks, and the God Valley Incident. However, chapter 1170 shifted the focus back to the present, revealing what’s currently happening in Elbaf after it was invaded by Imu’s forces and the Gods’ Knights.

Chapters 1171 and 1172 saw Luffy and Loki enter the battle, with the latter chapter focusing on the strategies of their allies. A key moment occurred when Elder Jarul announced Elbaf would oppose the World Government, an event many fans consider the start of the final war in One Piece.

Jarul Declares War On The World Government, Officially Starting The Great Conflict

Elbaf Sides Against Imu

  • The Final War officially begins.

Modern Elbaf is largely shaped by the actions of King Harald. Recognizing that power alone wouldn’t guarantee his country’s success, Harald devoted his life to improving Elbaf’s reputation and fostering positive relationships with the rest of the world.

Harald’s leadership greatly benefited Elbaf, helping them through a difficult period and improving the country’s reputation. This progress eventually attracted the attention of the World Government, who offered assistance – though, as is typical, they had hidden intentions in bringing Elbaf under their control.

Recently, it was revealed that Imu’s plan involves controlling the Giants of Elbaf, intending to use them as powerful soldiers in an upcoming war. To achieve this, Imu’s forces invaded Elbaf and began forcibly turning many of the Giants into corrupted versions of themselves. However, they quickly discovered that these legendary warriors are incredibly resilient and won’t be easily conquered.

In a truly inspiring moment from One Piece, Elder Jarul uses a country-wide broadcast to rally his people. He reminds them of their strong, historical warrior heritage and encourages them to stand firm against the danger threatening their home.

From what I’ve gathered, if the Harley’s Prophecy comes true and the world divides, it seems Elbaf will definitely end up opposing the World Government. It’s pretty clear they’ll be on opposite sides.

But most significantly, Jarul confronts Imu and the Gods’ Knights, challenging their authority and right to control the land. He makes it clear this isn’t their territory, and their actions have proven one thing: the Giants have had enough of their mistreatment and will now bring the fight directly to the World Government.

This is a pivotal moment for One Piece, officially signaling the beginning of the long-awaited Final War. The world’s strongest nation has declared it won’t allow an evil organization to gain control and refuses to be manipulated in this coming conflict.

Where Will Things Go From This Point In The Story?

The Start of the Final War

  • Everything is coming to a significant stage.

The One Piece community is buzzing after Jarul’s speech in Chapter 1172. For years, fans have anticipated the ‘Final War’ as the biggest battle the world has ever seen, and with the open rebellion in Elbaf against the World Government, it’s now officially begun.

If the world discovers Luffy and his crew are involved in a rebellion in Elbaf, their former allies will probably join the fight. This could finally bring the battle to the unfair Celestial Dragons and end the current, long-standing power structure.

The Final War has been foretold for centuries, going back to the time of Joyboy and the Void Century, and is even mentioned in ancient texts like the Harley Texts. While its exact course remains a mystery, the most likely scenario is that after the events on Elbaf, the World Government will start preparing for a full-scale conflict with the entire world.

This situation will likely escalate quickly, drawing in the most influential people. With Monkey D. Dragon and the Revolutionary Army already causing chaos, Imu is becoming increasingly desperate to find allies for the upcoming final battle.

The Holy Land is currently in a sea of flames… Thou seems to require additional military force!

Shanks and his crew are likely to help if a major conflict erupts, like a war with the World Government. It’s expected that when the fighting starts, Luffy’s strongest allies will either join him directly or handle other dangerous situations elsewhere.

Everything happening now shows that One Piece has reached the most important part of the story – the one creator Eiichiro Oda has been planning since the beginning. Whatever happens next, it’s clear we’re in the final stretch of this decades-long saga, and the ending is coming soon.

One Piece can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
