As promised, Oda has truly saved the best for last in One Piece’s Final Saga, and I must say, he’s definitely living up to his word.
Although the peak of “One Piece” is anticipated to be in the Final Arc, it hasn’t officially begun yet. What we’ve seen so far is merely the prelude, a tranquil moment before a massive storm. This storm is heading towards fans, and it promises to be an exhilarating experience to witness what unfolds next. One of the most thrilling developments that Oda is currently preparing for the Final Arc of “One Piece” is the reappearance of Rocks, and while some fans may harbor doubts, it’s indeed going to happen.
How Big Mom and Kaido Brought Rocks Back
- Big Mom and Kaido’s Alliance Was Called The Return Of The Rocks
- The Alliance Was Broken By Luffy and His Allies
In the popular manga series “One Piece,” the Rocks Pirates were unveiled to the audience only relatively late, around chapter 957. Since then, more details about this pirate group have been gradually revealed by the author, Oda. For instance, during the Egghead Arc, fans learned a substantial amount about them. The Rocks Pirates were led by the legendary captain, Rocks D. Xebec, who aspired to rule the world as king. His crew included strong pirates like Whitebeard, Shiki, Big Mom, Kaido, Captain John, Gloriosa, Stussy, Wang Zhi, Silver Axe, and others. The Rocks Pirates are believed to be one of the most formidable crews in “One Piece” history, with actions that earned them a reputation as a terrorist organization openly declaring war against the government.
Let’s put aside our differences and claim it…the One Piece, that is! — Kaido and Big Mom
In God Valley Island, about three decades past, the Rocks Pirates disrupted a traditional hunting event to retrieve something stolen from them. This action ultimately led to their demise when their captain, Rocks D. Xebec, was killed by Roger and Garp. The surviving members of the crew then went their separate ways. Over time, they gained strength, formed new crews, and some rose to prominence, including Kaido and Big Mom.
During the Wano Country storyline in One Piece, it was Kaido and Big Mom who teamed up with the goal of seizing One Piece and establishing a massive pirate kingdom within Wano as the center of piracy. Their ambition reached far beyond this, as they aimed to control the Ancient Weapons and ultimately claim One Piece itself. This unexpected alliance left the World Government in a state of confusion, with Garp even labeling it as the Return of Rocks. This formidable partnership caused significant problems for the Straw Hat Pirates, along with their allies. However, they eventually managed to thwart this alliance when Luffy and his crew broke it apart, and simultaneously defeated both leaders – a feat attributed to the Worst Generation.
How Buggy and Blackbeard Will Truly Bring Back Rocks
Buggy And Blackbeard Will Form An Alliance
In the world of One Piece, Big Mom and Kaido were unable to revive Rocks, but there are two characters who seem poised to do so: Blackbeard and Buggy. Previously discussed is their potential alliance, which may occur during the Final Saga, though a detailed explanation will be provided here. Both Blackbeard and Buggy share a common objective at present – building a powerful stronghold. However, they each have unique approaches to achieving this goal.
If Shanks is going for it, then I will too! Let’s go for it, the One Piece! — Buggy
Regarding the Cross Guild, they’ve been deliberately targeting the Navy with strategic attacks, seeking to draw their attention. This aggressive behavior is evident as they have put a price on the heads of all Marines. Their actions suggest a desire to challenge the Government at any cost. At present, the Navy stands as their main adversary, and they cannot be overlooked for an extended period.
Regarding the Blackbeard Pirates, their ambition mirrors that of other pirate groups – they aim to create a legitimate nation accepted globally. To further this goal, they’ve kidnapped Koby and have Garp in custody as a bargaining chip. The Navy won’t entertain their demands, and they can’t disregard Garp either, leaving war as the only viable option. If both the Cross Guild and the Blackbeard Pirates find themselves at odds with the Navy, it would make sense for them to unite and confront this imminent threat together. This alliance is crucial because their combined forces can better face an existential threat from the Navy. The ultimate aim is to kill Garp, as the World Government will likely decline their trade offer and respond with war instead.
The crucial question now arises: How exactly will Blackbeard and Buggy retrieve Rocks? Both Blackbeard and Rocks share an unexplored connection as of yet, but there are numerous hints in the story that suggest they might be more connected than we think. For instance, Blackbeard currently governs Pirate Island, a place once ruled by Rocks D. Xebec. He aspires to rule the entire world, just like Rocks did, and his ship is called the Saber of Xebec. These striking similarities might not be mere coincidence.

In essence, it’s widely believed among One Piece fans that Buggy, much like Shanks, grew up on the Roger Pirates’ ship and is approximately the same age. This suggests a potential link to the God Valley Incident, implying that Buggy might be the child left behind by Rocks D. Xebec, who was abandoned 38 years ago. If this theory holds true, Buggy could have been rescued by the Marines and given to the Roger Pirates for survival, similar to how Ace was entrusted to Garo by Roger to ensure his safety.
If this is the case, Buggy could be Rocks’ son, and Blackbeard, who idolizes Rocks, would form an alliance with him at Pirate Island. This union could potentially stir up the same level of terror that Rocks once did, prompting a naval conflict akin to Marineford when they confront the Navy together.
