One Piece’s Strongest Who NEVER Fought Luffy?!

Summary

  • King And Queen never fought Luffy during the Raid on Onigashima and faced Zoro and Sanji instead.
  • Luffy and Eustass Kid never had a major fight despite being rivals and allies against common enemies.
  • Luffy has yet to meet and fight Shanks, his mentor, highlighting their potential future clash.

In the extraordinary and perilous realm of One Piece, it’s only fitting that it houses a multitude of powerful entities, hailing from both the World Government and Pirate factions. Given this, it comes as no shock that the main character of the series, Monkey D. Luffy, has encountered numerous formidable adversaries during his extensive voyage.

It’s fascinating to ponder over the fact that many strong opponents in “One Piece” haven’t crossed swords with Luffy yet. Some might even avoid confrontation with him entirely. Here are some characters who embody this peculiar situation quite notably.

1. King And Queen

Kaido’s Most Loyal Henchmen Never Faced Luffy In Onigashima

  • First Appearance: Chapter 920 (Manga) Episode 910 (Anime)

As a die-hard pirate enthusiast, I can’t help but be captivated by the formidable duo known as King the Inferno and Queen the Pandemic, key figures within the fearsome Beasts Pirates. These two are no ordinary pirates; they possess ancient Zoan Devil Fruits that set them apart from their peers, and their physical attributes – King’s Lunarian lineage and Queen’s cybernetic enhancements – make them stand tall among the ranks of their crew. Truly, they’ve earned their place as two of the most potent pirates our heroes Luffy and his comrades have ever crossed swords with!

Even though both King and Queen demonstrated immense power, they didn’t engage with the main character throughout the entire Raid on Onigashima. Instead, they were preoccupied with battling Zoro and Sanji respectively. It’s worth noting that these two characters often take on the strongest adversaries of an enemy crew. However, it remains peculiar that neither King nor Queen fought Luffy directly, despite his involvement in eleven separate battles during the raid. Their absence from a significant confrontation with Luffy is quite unusual.

2. Eustass Kid

One Of Luffy’s Biggest Rivals Never Had A Major Fight Against Him

  • First Appearance: Chapter 498 (Manga) Episode 392 (Anime)

In an unusual twist, Monkey D. Luffy, despite his fierce rivalry with Eustass “Captain” Kid among the Supernovas, have yet to engage in a significant battle against each other. Instead, they found themselves unwillingly teaming up to face common adversaries, as seen during their adventures on the Sabaody Archipelago and in Wano Country.

To put it simply, it’s quite intriguing to imagine a confrontation between Kid and Luffy, given that Kid possesses the Jiki Jiki no Mi, a unique Devil Fruit which grants him control over metal and enables him to create massive, destructive structures. The thought of Kid’s metallic manipulation powers going head-to-head with Luffy’s rubber abilities is definitely engaging, however, such an encounter has yet to occur within the narrative.

3. Trafalgar D. Water Law

Another Supernova That Unexpectedly Became A Trustworthy Ally

  • First Appearance: Chapter 498 (Manga) Episode 392 (Anime)

In a similar vein to Eustass Kid, Trafalgar D. Water Law is another prominent figure of the Worst Generation who started off as a rival to Luffy but eventually transformed into one of his closest and crucial allies. This was not by chance, in fact, Law had intentionally devised a strategy to collaborate with the Straw Hat Pirates for the purpose of defeating both Donquixote Doflamingo and Kaido.

Despite this, it’s still quite surprising to consider that he’s never directly encountered Luffy, yet they’ve fought common enemies on multiple occasions, particularly during the Dressrosa Arc. Given that Law possesses the legendary Ope Ope no Mi, a Devil Fruit with incredible abilities, witnessing Luffy grapple with his Room technique would be both entertaining and thrilling.

4. Admiral Ryokyugu (Aramaki)

The Only Marine Admiral That Luffy Has Never Fought Personally

  • First Appearance: Chapter 905 (Manga) Episode 882 (Anime)

In the world of One Piece, the Admirals are highly influential members of the Marine forces, and Ryokugyu (originally named Aramaki) is no different. His proficiency in both Armament and Observation Haki, along with his extraordinary Logia Devil Fruit ability, the Mori Mori no Mi, which grants him the power to transform into and manipulate plant life, has made him a formidable adversary who was able to stand ground against several strong fighters such as Morley, Weevil, Yamato, and the Nine Red Scabbards.

Throughout the narrative, Monkey D. Luffy engages in battles with four out of the five Admirals. As of now, Luffy hasn’t met or fought against Aramaki, as this new adversary was vanquished by Shanks and withdrew from Wano before engaging in combat with the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. Since then, they haven’t crossed paths, but it’s possible that their encounter could take place before the series concludes.

5. Boa Hancock

One Of The Strongest Warlords Of The Sea Fell In Love With Luffy

  • First Appearance: Chapter 516 (Manga) Episode 409 (Anime)

In the narrative, it was clear from the beginning that the Warlords of the Sea were a formidable group of seven pirates who had aligned with the World Government and were destined to clash with the Straw Hat Pirates. After successfully defeating Sir Crocodile and Gecko Moria, Luffy encountered Boa Hancock in Amazon Lily, but surprisingly, he didn’t necessarily have to engage her in battle.

Following a major miscommunication and a short-lived skirmish involving Hancock’s sisters Sandersonia and Marigold (during which Luffy demonstrated his goodness), the formidable and alluring Pirate Empress found herself smitten by him and joined his ranks as one of his strongest allies. It’s crucial to note that Boa Hancock, without a doubt one of the most powerful figures in the One Piece universe due to her combat abilities, mastery of Haki, and exceptional Devil Fruit – the Mero Mero no Mi – is significant. However, Luffy proved immune to the powers of this particular Devil Fruit, giving him a substantial edge if they were to engage in battle together.

6. Shanks

Luffy Has Yet To Reunite With His Beloved Mentor

  • First Appearance: Chapter 1 (Manga) Episode 4 (Anime)

At the outset of One Piece, readers encounter “Red-Haired” Shanks, a distinguished pirate captain who bestowed Luffy with his iconic straw hat and ignited his ambition to forge a path as a mighty pirate. Interestingly enough, as the narrative unfolds, it’s disclosed that Shanks is among the Four Emperors – a group of the most influential and potent pirates in the entire globe.

From my vantage point, it’s been intriguing to follow the narrative arc of One Piece, where Luffy’s quest often revolves around reconnecting with Shanks and returning his iconic straw hat. Interestingly enough, these two characters have yet to cross paths again, let alone engage in a confrontation. Now, if we were to imagine such a clash, it would undoubtedly be formidable for Luffy. After all, Shanks is renowned for his exceptional combat skills, particularly with his deadly swordsmanship, and he’s mastered the three facets of Haki to an impressive degree.

7. Figarland Garling

Luffy Has Yet To Meet And Fight The Newest Member Of The Five Elders

  • First Appearance: Chapter 1086 (Manga) Episode 1120 (Anime)

For dedicated fans of “One Piece,” the Egghead Arc was a significant event as Luffy engaged in personal confrontations with all Five Elders, demonstrating why they’re renowned as some of the most powerful beings worldwide. Following a grueling battle, the Straw Hat Pirates emerged victorious without injury. Later on, Jaygarcia Saturn met his end at the hands of Imu, who was displeased that Luffy had managed to escape and that Doctor Vegapuk’s broadcast wasn’t halted.

In the end, Commander Saint Figarland Garling, who is also Shanks’ biological father and a member of the God’s Knights, took over from Saturn. This makes Garling the single Five Elders member that Luffy hasn’t met yet, as he holds a significant position and is well-known for his strength within the World Government. It’s been suggested that if Imu bestows upon him a legendary Devil Fruit, similar to those consumed by the other Elders, Garling could potentially become even more powerful.

8. Imu

Luffy Will Fight The Main Antagonist Someday (Or Will He?)

  • First Appearance: Chapter 906 (Manga) Episode 885 (Anime)

The surprise that the Five Elders aren’t the ultimate rulers of the World Government and instead, a secretive figure known as Imu controls everything, remains one of the most jaw-dropping plot twists in the series. This revelation has made it clear to fans that Luffy will undeniably encounter this new adversary before the series concludes.

From my perspective as an avid fan, there’s a buzzing theory among us that Imu might be toppled by another powerful force, like Shanks or Blackbeard, before Luffy gets to engage them in a battle. If this were to unfold, it could swiftly lead our epic story towards its conclusion, skipping the anticipated showdown between Luffy and Imu. Make no mistake, if such a clash were to materialize, it would undeniably go down as legendary. After all, Imu has displayed some truly terrifying powers, including an enigmatic transformation that could potentially dwarf the monstrous forms of the Five Elders.
