The popular manga series “One Punch Man” found itself in the redraw phase of the Ninja Village arc for over a year, but fortunately, Murata completed it earlier this month. However, after much anticipation from fans about the next chapter, Murata recently announced that due to certain unavoidable circumstances, the manga will take a two-month break starting now. This means that eager fans will have to wait until July 17, 2025, to see what exciting developments Murata has planned for the next installment.

Murata hasn’t explicitly shared why he’s taking a break from the series, but most fans get why he needs a rest. Apart from the art and reruns, some fans feel that the Ninja Village arc wasn’t a strong narrative point for the manga. Therefore, the community is eagerly waiting for ONE and Murata to create a more engaging story arc when the manga resumes from its hiatus. Admittedly, many fans found the repeated redraws annoying, but now that the story can progress beyond Ninja Village, they hope that ONE and Murata will effectively use this break to design a more compelling story arc.

Staff took over production for Season 2 of the anime series.

After a challenging hiatus spanning more than six years, I’m thrilled to announce that the anime adaptation of One-Punch Man will grace our screens once again in October 2025. The studio behind the second season, J.C. Staff, has regained control and is now diligently working on the third season.

Atsushi Fujishiro, who works as a producer at J.C. Staff, has affirmed that they have been putting in a lot of effort on Season 3 and are dedicated to delivering an installment that won’t fall short of expectations.
