During Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025, Capcom revealed a fresh trailer for the upcoming Onimusha: Samurai’s Path. This action-adventure game is scheduled to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in the coming year. The new trailer showcases intense and ominous gameplay for Onimusha: Samurai’s Path.
The Onimusha series launched in 2001, and since then, it has produced several sequels and offshoots. However, the most recent main installment in the series was Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, which came out in 2006. Since then, Capcom has only published remasters, an online game, and a VR title. But last year at The Game Awards, there was an announcement of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, signaling an exciting development for the franchise.

At Gamescom, Capcom revealed an intense, compact trailer for the title Onimusha: Way of the Samurai. The footage depicts protagonist Miyamoto Musashi battling various monsters in a twisted reimagining of Kyoto during the Edo era. Notably, the video features a thrilling boss battle where Miyamoto confronts a massive monster that wields its tail as a weapon and is covered in spikes. During this combat sequence, Miyamoto swiftly strikes enemies with precise blows, dodges attacks, and employs various tools such as a bow and a double-edged spear, demonstrating the game’s adaptable playstyle.
