OpTic Shotzzy Snaps On Social Media Against Other CDL Pro Players

Anthony ‘Shotzzy‘ Cuevas-Castro is known as one of the most skilled and reliable players in the Call of Duty League. Previously representing OpTic Texas, he clinched the CDL Championship last year, adding another title to his impressive collection in a game where he demonstrates an extraordinary level of skill. He’s one of only two esports professionals who have ever claimed a world championship title in two different games, lending him a touch of distinction.

Lately, I’ve been making some waves online, letting off steam about my fellow gaming peers in the CDL scene through a heated social media tirade. On Twitter, I’ve been dishing out some fiery remarks, aiming some friendly (or not-so-friendly) heat towards those around me.

‘Another Excuse’

It all began when Shotzzy posted:

‘Most teams study break offs more than playing efficient – fkn idiots’

Responding to a comment on the same post, Cuevas-Castro clarified: ‘I don’t give a damn anymore. I’m just saying whatever comes to mind today.’ As the audience prepared for a villainous shift, Shotzzy subsequently wrote:

In reply to a comment on that post, Cuevas-Castro stated: ‘I honestly don’t care anymore; I’m simply expressing my thoughts as they come today.’ In anticipation of the heel turn, Shotzzy later shared:

Year after year, players are experiencing pay reductions, and they’re puzzled as to the reason. Some might even say these decision-makers are more like jesters who primarily receive compensation without contributing much of substance.

His most ardent supporters highly praise his work ethic, emphasizing that he’s one of the rare professionals who puts in significant effort in both his content and career. Lately, Shotzzy suggested that organizations should broadcast their practice sessions (scrims) to provide Call of Duty League fans with something interesting to watch during the occasional breaks that occur every few weeks.

He’s one of many COD pro players to stress recently that Black Ops 6 is in a dark place.

From there, Shotzzy got even more aggressive:

‘Eight-ranked players, particularly those in the Side-by-Side (SnD) format, have been instrumental in my championship victories and every tournament win I’ve had. Using laziness as an excuse for not participating in the game seems unjustified.’

He capped off his rant with a coupe de grace:

Gonna chill now but yo @ most cdl pros put the fries in the bag in a couple years ty

Following that, Shotzzy began streaming on Twitch. This move might have been strategically planned to boost interaction prior to his entertaining performance that drew a captivated audience. Alternatively, it could simply be him expressing long-suppressed feelings.
