Over the weekend, the Call of Duty League matches followed a predictable pattern, with the anticipated teams emerging victorious. Toronto Ultra stands alone as the only organization that’s yet to taste defeat in the Major I qualifiers. Atlanta FaZe is still grappling to recover after a disappointing start to their season.
This past weekend, Optic Texas truly stood out with a remarkable performance. Now boasting a strong 5-1 record for the stage, they left no doubt against both LA Thieves and the Vegas Falcons in their matches. The game against LA Thieves was particularly noteworthy.
Not The Record You Want
The game between OpTic Texas and LA Thieves was incredibly tumultuous, kicking off with OpTic scoring 100 points against LAT in a Hardpoint round on Hacienda. Throughout this contest, Thomas ‘Scrap’ Ernst from LAT achieved an unprecedented feat, one he may not be particularly proud of – he became the first player in Call of Duty League history to inflict less than 1000 damage during an entire round of Hardpoint.
After the chaos subsided, he achieved a kill-to-death ratio of 6:19, which has left a lasting negative impact on his historical record; this performance ranks among the poorest since the Call of Duty League was established in 2020.
By the end of the skirmish, he’d amassed a kill-death ratio of 6 to 19, cementing a disappointing chapter in his career that ranks as one of the least impressive since the Call of Duty League started in 2020.
He took it in jest, though:

As the contest progressed, it seemed like the LA Thieves were gaining momentum and clinched victories in the initial rounds of Search and Control, yet Optic Texas remained resilient. The second Hardpoint, played on Skyline, was more favorable for Optic Texas, while during game five, something significant transpired.
Initially holding a 5-1 advantage, LAT faltered in their game against OpTic Texas, ultimately suffering a reverse sweep. In an incredible display during the final round, Kenny managed to pull off a thrilling 1v2 finish, securing the victory and crucial COD points that virtually assure them of a top seed for Major I.
