As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for tower defense games, I can hardly contain my excitement for Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap. Having played and enjoyed every installment of this series, I find myself eagerly awaiting its return on January 23rd. The promise of rogue-lite progression, cooperative gameplay, and new orc hordes has me ready to don my War Mage robes once more.
Robot Entertainment has revealed when Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap will be out and shared some fresh gameplay details. The expected release is in the early part of 2025.
On January 23rd, Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap will make its way to PC platforms such as Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as Xbox Series S|X. This action-strategy game will accommodate up to four players, offer rogue-lite style progression, and introduce brand new waves of orc invaders for you to fend off!

In this exhilarating fresh installment of the popular series praised by critics, gamers can engage in intense third-person combat either alone or with as many as four companions. As novice War Mages, you’ll traverse a rogue-lite experience, boosting your distinctive powers to slash, burn, and destroy swarms of unyielding orcs in thrilling battle scenes.
In Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap, you can customize the challenge level based on the number of participants. You’ll have six unique War Mages at your disposal, each with distinct personalities, trap setups, and abilities. Finding the perfect balance among them, optimizing their tools, and tailoring gameplay styles is crucial for effectively fending off orcs.
With each advancing wave of adversaries, they receive randomly assigned boosts and penalties. Strategically using the surroundings, taking weather and time into account will be crucial for defending against the escalating onslaught. As these boosts and penalties intensify, players have the option to engage or retreat to their castle base to empower their hero, weapons, and traps before confronting a tough Orc Commander in a fierce showdown.
Three games have been released in the main Orcs Must Die! franchise, with the third game launched in 2021. This latest installment is currently garnering a “very positive” rating on Steam and is characterized as: “Orcs Must Die! 3 escalates orc-slaughtering chaos to unprecedented levels. You can play alone, or team up with another player cooperatively.
