Ousama Ranking Returns from Hiatus

The anime adaptation of “King’s Game,” more commonly recognized as “Ranking of Kings,” garnered significant acclaim several years ago. Its captivating narrative, combined with stunning visuals and artwork, left viewers enthralled.

Unfortunately, numerous followers of this series who opted to explore further with Bojji through the manga found themselves waiting for over two long years, or more precisely, 21 months, as the series took a break.

2025 marks the continuation of the serialization for Ousama Ranking. This past Tuesday saw the release of chapter 232, with further chapters following suit in the subsequent days, straight from the mangaka’s studio.

The Long Hiatus The Manga Went Through

Back in April 2023, I noticed a significant pause in the publication of the “Ranking of Kings” manga, as had been discussed earlier.

The cause behind the unexplained break in the past is unclear, but it may potentially stem from some health complications that mangaka Sōsuke Tōka might have been experiencing.

Will Ranking Of Kings Get New Anime Content?

To date, there hasn’t been any official announcement for additional seasons of the highly acclaimed anime “Ranking of Kings.” Given its success during its initial airing, this absence is quite disappointing. The first season spanned 24 episodes, and an extra series titled “Ranking of Kings: The Treasure Chest of Courage,” consisting of 10 episodes, was also produced. However, it’s important to note that this additional content doesn’t equate to Season 2, as it primarily served to elaborate on certain aspects rather than continuing the main storyline.

Exactly a year ago, a film adaptation of Ousama Ranking was officially announced. Unfortunately, since then, there have been no new developments or announcements regarding the movie, leaving its fans eagerly anticipating news about the franchise’s future plans. For now, fans can still immerse themselves in the manga series to satisfy their curiosity.
