Obsidian Entertainment has announced that the upcoming game, The Outer Worlds 2, will feature pets that players can interact with. Fans are eagerly awaiting the sequel to the acclaimed 2019 RPG, which is scheduled for release on October 29th. It appears The Outer Worlds 2 is expanding on everything players loved about the original game, aiming for a larger and more impressive experience.
Many fans consider *The Outer Worlds* a hidden gem, praising its blend of traditional RPG gameplay with a unique sense of humor and style. It’s often compared to the original *Fallout* games. The game is set in the Halcyon system, where powerful corporations rule. Players travel between planets, completing quests through action, stealth, conversation, and combat, and meeting memorable characters. However, it wasn’t until a downloadable expansion that players could finally have a pet – an adorable Anubis!
The Outer Worlds 2 Will Let Players Have a Pet
I got some cool news straight from the folks at Obsidian! They confirmed that *The Outer Worlds 2* will have pets, which is awesome! It sounds like they’ll work just like Anubis from the first game – basically, they’ll hang out on your ship and you can interact with them. You can only have one pet active at a time, which is a little disappointing, but honestly, people were begging for pets back when the first *Outer Worlds* came out, so I think most of us will be happy anyway. They did tease that one of the pets will be a Protectorate Drone – but they’re keeping the other one a secret for now, which is exciting!

In *The Outer Worlds 2*, players can gain a cute canine companion named Anubis through the “Peril on Gorgon” DLC. After meeting Anubis’s owner, the little dog will bond with your character and come aboard your ship, the *Unreliable*, as a decorative item you can interact with. Your ship’s crew will each have their own unique reaction to Anubis, and we expect similar reactions from companions in *The Outer Worlds 2*.

The highly anticipated game, *The Outer Worlds 2*, is finished with development and will be released very soon! This new RPG will offer more weapons than the first game, and its shooting has been improved with help from the team behind *Halo*. Players can expect better graphics, a completely new story with fresh characters, and a brand new solar system to discover.
