Outer Worlds 2 Platinum Trophy Guide (How to Get All Achievements)

Okay, so I’m really getting into The Outer Worlds 2, and it’s a seriously deep RPG. There’s a TON of achievements to unlock, all tied to doing specific things or overcoming challenges. The good news is you can grab almost all of them in just one playthrough, especially if you’re smart about saving your game often. But honestly? Getting absolutely every trophy is going to take a few runs, at least for me. It’s a completionist’s dream (or nightmare!), but it’s so much fun.

The achievements in Outer Worlds 2 vary greatly in how challenging they are. Some are easy to get – you’ll earn one just by finding Paradise or collecting a single Pitchball card. Others, like “Corporation Cooperation,” “Capture The Archive The Hard Way,” and “Winning Hearts and Heads,” require a significant amount of work.

This guide will help you unlock all 48 achievements in The Outer Worlds 2 and provides helpful tips to achieve 100% completion of the game.

Collectibles & Unique Items

A Journey Of A Thousand Miles

  • Collected 1 Pitch/Tossball card

In Outer Worlds 2, you can unlock the “A Journey Of A Thousand Miles” achievement by collecting just one Pitchball or Tossball card.

Whew, That’s Enough!

  • Collected 100 Pitch/Tossball cards

To unlock the “Whew, That’s Enough!” achievement in Outer Worlds 2, you need to collect 100 Pitchball or Tossball cards – any mix of both will do. Be sure to search every corner of the game world for these small, rectangular collectibles.

Left To Your Own Device

  • Acquired the Rift Anomaly Modulator

In Outer Worlds 2, you’ll unlock the “Left To Your Own Device” achievement by obtaining the Rift Anomaly Modulator. This device, which briefly fixes problems caused by Rift Anomalies, is a key item you’ll find during the main story on the planet Praetor.

Rift Drifter

  • Explored all of the localized rifts around Arcadia

The “Rift Drifter” achievement in Outer Worlds 2 requires players to find and fix every Rift Anomaly throughout the game. You’ll need to explore all four major planets – Paradise, Golden Ridge, Cloister, and Praetor – plus both Free Market Station and the ACS Undisputed Claim to earn it.

SA Quarterlies Quantified

  • Found all volumes of Science Adventures Quarterly on Paradise Island

Golden Ridge Murals in Plural

  • Found all of the mural pieces on Golden Ridge

Cloister Excogitation Logs CEL-ebration

  • Found all of the Excogitation audio logs on Cloister

Praetor Towers Powered

  • Recalibrated all of the grounding stations on Praetor

Flawed Hero

  • Accepted 3 Flaws

Okay, so I just figured out how to get the ‘Flawed Hero’ achievement in Outer Worlds 2. Basically, you need to pick three different Flaws during your playthrough. These pop up when you do certain things in the game – or if you bought the Premium Edition, you can snag the ‘Consumerist’ Flaw right away. Just a heads-up though, once you pick a Flaw, you’re stuck with it, so choose wisely!

Hatchling Catcher

  • Collected 5 pets for your ship

To earn the “Hatchling Catcher” achievement in Outer Worlds 2, players need to unlock 5 different pets for their companion, Incognito. You’ll receive one pet automatically with the Premium Edition, find or buy three on the planet Paradise, and discover even more throughout the rest of the game.

Winning Hearts and Heads

  • Collected 20 human hearts

Okay, so I just found out how to get this crazy achievement in Outer Worlds 2 called “Winning Hearts and Heads.” Apparently, you have to become a total psychopath first – you need the Psychopath perk just to unlock the Serial Killer perk. Then, the really weird part: you have to kill 20 regular humans and actually collect their hearts! It sounds gruesome, but that’s what it takes. You only get the heart item if you’ve got the Serial Killer perk equipped, so make sure you have that before you start… harvesting.

Companions & Factions

One for All

  • Recruited all companions

In Outer Worlds 2, earning the “One for All” achievement requires you to gather all six companions. You’ll start with Niles and VAL, then find Inez on Paradise, Aza and Marisol on Golden Ridge, and finally Tristan on Free Market Station.

All for One

  • Completed all companion quests

To unlock the “All for One” achievement in Outer Worlds 2, you need to finish the personal questline for each of the game’s six companions. You can identify these quests by looking for each companion’s icon next to missions in your journal. Keep in mind that each companion’s quest has multiple parts, so check back often to see if new objectives have become available.

All for None

  • Have every living companion die or abandon you for good

To unlock the “All for None” achievement in Outer Worlds 2, you need to completely sever ties with every companion – either by letting them all die permanently, or by sending them off to leave your crew. Importantly, you can’t load an earlier save file to achieve this – all companions must be gone simultaneously.

AC: All Complete

  • Completed all faction quests for Auntie’s Choice

Players can unlock the “All Complete” achievement in Outer Worlds 2 by finishing Auntie’s Choice questline. This means completing every request Auntie makes to get her assistance with The Archive, and then formally asking for her help to finish the game.

OA: Objectives Accomplished

  • Completed all faction quests for the Order of the Ascendant

Players can unlock the “Objectives Accomplished” achievement in Outer Worlds 2 by finishing the entire Order of the Ascendant questline. This means completing all tasks requested by The Order so they’ll help you with The Archive, and then formally asking for their assistance to finish the game.

Corporation Cooperation

  • Convinced Auntie’s Choice and the Order of the Ascendant to work together

To unlock the “Corporation Cooperation” achievement in Outer Worlds 2, you need to finish the questlines for both Auntie’s Choice and the Order of the Ascendant. After that, you must successfully negotiate a partnership between these two factions and get them to help you with The Archive.

Destroyer of Worlds

  • Reached the lowest possible standing with Auntie’s Choice and the Order of the Ascendant

To unlock the “Destroyer of Worlds” achievement in Outer Worlds 2, you need to become completely disliked by both the Order of the Ascendant and Auntie’s Choice. A quick way to do this is to eliminate all the residents in key locations linked to these groups, such as Matriarch’s Mercy on Golden Ridge and Fairfield on Paradise.

Combat Challenges

Ad Hominem Homicide

  • Killed 10 enemies that are taunted by the Popup Gun’s Ad Drones

In Outer Worlds 2, you can unlock the “Ad Hominem Homicide” achievement by buying the Popup Gun from the ACS Undisputed Claim and then using its special Ad drones to defeat 10 enemies. These drones explode every time you reload the gun.

Dance Dance Disfiguration

  • Killed 10 enemies with the Spectrum Dance Saber while in Spectrum Rainbow mode

To unlock the “Dance Dance Disfiguration” achievement in Outer Worlds 2, you need to buy the Spectrum Dance Saber at Free Market Station. This saber has different colors and effects. Once you have it, defeat 10 enemies while it’s set to Rainbow mode.

Elemental Maelstrom

  • Killed a single enemy that has been affected by all possible damage types

To unlock the Elemental Maelstrom achievement in Outer Worlds 2, you need to defeat an enemy after hitting them with all six damage types: Corrosion, Frost, N-Ray, Physical, Plasma, and Shock. Make sure you have weapons equipped that can inflict each of these damage types, and switch between them during a fight with a tough enemy.

Float Like A Butterfly, Sting Like A Bee

  • Killed 5 enemies while hovering in the Zyranium Automech Suit

To unlock the “Float Like A Butterfly, Sting Like A Bee” achievement in Outer Worlds 2, you need to get the Zyranium Automech Suit at the Automech facility on Praetor. Then, activate its Hover ability and defeat 5 enemies while floating in the air.

Go Out With A Bang

  • Killed 3 enemies with a single shot of the Big Bang

To unlock the “Go Out With A Bang” achievement in Outer Worlds 2, you need to find the Big Bang weapon inside the EARL building on the planet Cloister. Then, weaken three enemies so they have very little health remaining, and use the Big Bang to eliminate them all with a single shot. This will earn you the achievement!

Never Seen

  • Killed 50 enemies with Sneak Attacks

To unlock the “Never Seen” achievement in Outer Worlds 2, you need to defeat 50 enemies using Sneak Attacks. Remember, you must deliver the final blow with a Sneak Attack – simply dealing Sneak damage isn’t enough. Consider choosing the Lucky Trait, which increases your Critical Hit chance, to help you instantly defeat enemies while in stealth.

Scary GARY Adversary

  • Killed 5 enemies with Gary’s tendrils

To unlock the “Scary GARY Adversary” achievement in Outer Worlds 2, you need to get the GARY armor. You can find it by using the Rift Modulator on a rift close to the Bridge of the Revenant on Paradise. Then, defeat enemies five times using one of the tendrils created by the GARY armor’s special ability.

Stompy

  • Killed 5 enemies by stomping on them after hitting them with the Shrink Ray

In Outer Worlds 2, you can unlock the “Stompy” achievement by finding the Shrink Ray at the Crabble Spawning Grounds on Paradise. To do this, you’ll need to use the Rift Modulator on a Rift Anomaly. Once you have the Shrink Ray, simply shrink and step on five enemies to earn the achievement.

Stop Hitting Yourself

  • Killed 15 enemies using only Armageddon

Okay, so I just figured out how to get the ‘Stop Hitting Yourself’ achievement in Outer Worlds 2! You need to get the Armageddon weapon first. To do that, use the Rift Modulator on a Rift Anomaly – the one near where you originally found the Modulator is the spot. Then, the tricky part: you have to beat 15 enemies only with the Armageddon. No other weapons allowed! It’s a fun challenge, but definitely makes you focus on mastering that one weapon.

Waylaid Grenades

  • Shot 3 grenades out of the air

To unlock the “Waylaid Grenades” achievement in Outer Worlds 2, you need to slow down time using the Time-Dialation gadget and then shoot three incoming grenades. Be careful – shooting a grenade before it lands will make it explode early!

Well Dressed

  • Defeated the Consul while wearing clothing instead of armor

To unlock the “Well Dressed” achievement in Outer Worlds 2, you need to beat the Protectorate Consul while wearing no armor. Make sure to remove all armor pieces and only equip clothing, if you choose to wear anything at all.

Misc Challenges

Anti-Consumerist

  • Completed the game without spending a single bit

In Outer Worlds 2, earning the Anti-Consumerist achievement means completing the game without buying anything – no items from shops, no bribes, and no spending your Bits on anything at all.

A Stiff In The Rift

  • Jumped into a rift (and died)

To unlock the “A Stiff In The Rift” achievement in Outer Worlds 2, players need to walk directly into a Rift Anomaly without using the Rift Modulator first. This will cause your character to die, so it’s best to quicksave your game beforehand.

Auntie’s Old Acquaintance

  • Met Amos

In Outer Worlds 2, you can unlock the Auntie’s Old Acquaintance achievement by finding Amos aboard the ACS Undisputed Claim. You’ll get the chance to find him as part of a quest given to you by a character after you’ve explored further into the Auntie’s Choice ship.

Capture The Archive The Hard Way

  • Took control of the Archive without any backup

To unlock the “Capture The Archive The Hard Way” achievement in Outer Worlds 2, you need to complete The Archive without any assistance from Auntie’s Choice or the Order of the Ascendant. This achievement requires a solo playthrough of The Archive.

Chemically Dependent

  • Crashed 20 times with the Medical Inhaler

In Outer Worlds 2, you can unlock the “Chemically Dependent” achievement by crashing 20 times. Crashing happens when you exceed your Toxicity limit while using the Inhaler.

Corpse Warper

  • Melted 20 bodies with Auntie’s Acidic Dematerializer

In Outer Worlds 2, you can unlock the Corpse Warper achievement by getting the Auntie’s Acidic Dematerializer from the locked boxes on the Incognito ship and then using it to disintegrate a total of 20 fallen enemies.

Everything Must Go

  • Earned 50,000 bits by selling items to vendors

The “Everything Must Go” achievement in Outer Worlds 2 requires players to sell 50,000 Bits worth of items to merchants. The quickest way to earn this achievement is to sell all the Junk you collect instead of breaking it down for parts, although doing so means you won’t have those materials for crafting.

Hatchling Hunter

  • Killed a total of 50 Rapitdon Juveniles, Crabble Hatchlings, Mantiwasps, Spiderlings, or Critters

The “Hatchling Hunter” achievement in Outer Worlds 2 is unlocked by defeating any combination of young Raptidons, Crabble Hatchlings, Spiderlings, Mantiwasps, or harmless Critters on any planet. You can earn this achievement naturally by playing the game and exploring, but just make sure to eliminate every Critter you encounter.

Level 30

  • Reached Level 30

In Outer Worlds 2, reaching level 30 is all it takes to unlock the Level 30 achievement – just max out your character!

Maximum Gun

  • Fully leveled-up Rookie’s Reward

Okay, so if you’re going for the Maximum Gun achievement in Outer Worlds 2, here’s what you gotta do. You need to snag the Rookie’s Reward pistol – you can find it by either unlocking that hatch in the Incognito’s pet room, or by cutting the power to the room with a sneaky hidden switch. Then, the real work begins: you have to level that Rookie’s Reward all the way up to max by just racking up kills with it equipped. It’s a bit of a grind, but totally worth it for the achievement!

Skilled

  • Raised a Skill to level 20

In Outer Worlds 2, earning the Skilled achievement is straightforward: just fully max out any single Skill. Since you gain two Skill Points per level, you could unlock this achievement as early as level 10 if you dedicate all your points to one Skill.

Upgrades Available

  • Applied modifications to 10 weapons or armors

Okay, so I just figured out how to get the ‘Upgrades Available’ achievement in Outer Worlds 2! You actually have to apply mods at a Workbench – just having modded gear equipped doesn’t do it. You need to use the Workbench and add a total of 10 weapon or armor mods to your stuff. Any combination works, so you can do all weapons, all armor, or a mix – just get 10 mods applied!

  • Infiltrated and escaped the Vox Relay

Desperate Times Call for Monastic Measures

  • Stopped de Vries’ conspirators in Alexandra Monastery

In Outer Worlds 2, you can unlock the “Desperate Times Call for Monastic Measures” achievement by finishing the Golden Ridge main quest. This requires defeating the allies of de Vries within the Order, located at the top of the Alexandra Monastery. This special area becomes accessible as you advance through the main storyline.
