A24 and Netflix are collaborating on a video game adaptation of Overcooked. The project will be an unscripted reality show where people compete in cooking challenges.
For fans of chaotic multiplayer games, Overcooked stands out as uniquely fun and challenging. Originally released in 2016 by Ghost Town Games, this cooking simulator quickly gained popularity for its stressful but enjoyable gameplay. With a sequel and a remastered version also available, it’s remained a top co-op indie game in recent years. Now, the game’s core concept appears to be heading to a major streaming platform.
Netflix and A24 Planning Unscripted Competition Show Based on Overcooked

According to Deadline, A24 has obtained the rights to create a cooking competition show based on the popular video game, Overcooked. Netflix is reportedly partnering with A24 to stream the series, though neither company has confirmed the news yet.
The upcoming show will have a similar vibe to popular Netflix family programs like Nailed It! and The Floor is Lava. However, it will still feature the fast-paced challenges and unpredictable moments that made the original game so popular. Gemma Langford, Oli De-Vine, and Phil Duncan from Ghost Town Games, along with A24, will be executive producers.
It’s going to be fascinating to see the Overcooked video game turned into a real-life TV show! Luckily, we get to watch the chaos unfold instead of being in the kitchen. Because the game is so entertaining to watch, I think this show has the potential to be really fun, and as a cooking show fan, I’m excited to see how it turns out.
