Tracer is back in the Overwatch 2 Stadium game mode! She was temporarily unavailable due to a bug, but is now playable again. Players can once again select this popular damage-dealing hero for their matches.
With the recent mid-Season 18 update for *Overwatch 2*, Blizzard added Tracer as a playable hero in Stadium. While they initially intended to add Wuyang during this update, similar to how Freja was added in a previous *Overwatch 2* season, the developers decided to postpone Wuyang’s release until they could add more well-known heroes to the game.
Tracer is Back in Overwatch 2 Stadium Once More
When Tracer was first introduced to Stadium, a serious glitch was quickly discovered. This bug, which broke the game, forced developers to temporarily remove her from Overwatch 2 Stadium on September 18th. It took about a week to fix, but Overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller announced on Twitter that Tracer was back in Stadium as of the night of September 22nd.
It was actually pretty amusing when Tracer had to be temporarily removed from the game. Her ability, Recall, lets her rewind to where she was three seconds earlier, including her health. But a glitch in the Stadium mode didn’t factor in changes to health from buying or selling items. This meant players could buy health-boosting upgrades, immediately sell them, and then use Recall to get their money *and* the extra health back, all while keeping the space in their inventory and the in-game currency. As a result, Tracer players in *Overwatch 2* Stadium could quickly build up health totals exceeding 1500.

Get ready for more heroes in Overwatch 2’s Stadium mode! Season 19 is expected to launch on October 14th with three new characters, and another will be added mid-season. While the developers haven’t officially announced who they are yet, Sojourn and Torbjorn are strong possibilities. Fans will have to stay tuned to find out which heroes are coming next to this popular game mode.
There’s a lot happening in *Overwatch 2* right now! You can participate in the Play Like Luka event until September 26th, and the *Overwatch 2* and *Persona 5* crossover until September 30th. Plus, the third anniversary event is underway, with new game modes and rewards available. The anniversary challenges are especially good for playing in Stadium, and it’s a great time to try out Tracer now that she’s back in the game.
