Overwatch 2’s Competitive Drive Events, Explained
In the game Overwatch 2, there’s a fresh kind of event called Competitive Drives that will happen during each season. Typically, these events occur in the last few weeks of a Competitive Season. To join in on the Competitive Drives, players just need to keep playing matches in the Competitive Play – Role Queue mode.
After every victory or defeat in competitive play, players will be awarded Drive Scores. The Drive Score is calculated by multiplying the Skill Rank Percentage gained (or lost) by 10 after each match. For instance, if a win boosts your rank progress by +22%, you’ll also collect 220 Drive Score points. Conversely, a loss that decreases your rank progress by -22% will deduct 220 Drive Score points from your current total during the ongoing Competitive Drive event.
As players reach certain milestones, or “checkpoints,” by earning Drive Scores, they’ll be eligible for extra perks. These bonuses could take the form of packs filled with Competitive Points or the latest addition, Signatures items.
Once you pass a specific point, your Drive Score won’t drop below a certain limit, and any Signature rewards you’ve earned can be used on your game profile until the upcoming season’s Competitive Drive competition starts.
