A bug in Overwatch 2 temporarily forced the removal of the hero Tracer from the Stadium game mode. A glitch with her Recall ability let her rewind time and repeatedly benefit from selling items, essentially giving her unlimited in-game currency and a significant advantage. This game-breaking bug was quickly addressed by disabling Tracer.
The latest update to *Overwatch 2*, mid-Season 18, has arrived with gameplay adjustments and a special event featuring *Persona 5*. A highlight of the update is the addition of Tracer, a popular hero, to the new Stadium game mode.
Tracer Disabled in Overwatch 2 Stadium After Breaking the Armory
A serious bug has temporarily removed Tracer from the Stadium game mode in *Overwatch 2*, just days after she was added in the latest update. Players discovered a glitch with Tracer’s Recall ability that allowed them to exploit the in-game Armory system. By quickly buying and selling items, then using Recall, players could essentially duplicate items and gain extra health and armor – one player, Landia, shared a screenshot showing Tracer with over 1600 health, making her nearly invincible. Because of this, Tracer has been temporarily disabled in Stadium while the issue is fixed.
Tracer’s Recall ability allows her to rewind time, regaining the health she had three seconds previously. It’s amusing and fitting that the game’s Stadium system struggles with her health fluctuating so much during this rewind, especially considering how Tracer can rapidly move through time.
It’s unclear how long Tracer will be unplayable in Stadium. Blizzard might be able to fix the issue by the end of Friday, September 19th, but it could take longer. Players who enjoy playing Tracer may need to wait until after the weekend to use her in Overwatch 2’s Stadium mode again.
Tracer won’t be the newest hero in Overwatch 2 Stadium for long. Season 19, starting October 14th, will bring more playable characters, with Torbjorn and Sojourn likely to be among the first. While it’s not certain if those two damage-dealing heroes will be available right away, past seasons suggest we’ll see three new characters at the start of the season, followed by a fourth about a month later in a mid-season update.
