As a dedicated and long-time Overwatch 2 player, I have eagerly anticipated the arrival of new heroes to the roster. The latest addition, Juno, has piqued my interest since her first teaser at Blizzcon 2023 as the “Space Ranger” hero. I’ve followed every piece of news and speculation about this character, even going as far as searching for clues on game maps.
A player of “Overwatch 2” made an interesting discovery about the weapon of the newest support character, Juno. The icon on her gun alterations based on whom she’s targeting. Excitement built up as “Overwatch 2” officially introduced Juno, increasing the number of available support heroes in the game. During a test weekend, players were given the opportunity to try out Juno, resulting in numerous discussions and revelations about her character within the gaming community.
At Blizzcon 2023, not only did Blizzard provide updates for “Overwatch 2” fans, but they also unveiled the initial sneak peek of the long-anticipated hero once referred to as “Space Ranger.” Ever since this cryptic name surfaced, players have been eagerly seeking formal information. A few even discovered potential hints when a compact spaceship materialized on Dorado’s map. Now, with Juno officially joining the “Overwatch 2” community, a perceptive gamer has pointed out an intriguing aspect concerning her weapon.
Reddit user XylophoneDonger disclosed an intriguing detail about Juno’s gun in Overwatch 2: the face on it transforms based on whom she’s targeting. In the Practice Range of Overwatch 2, a player demonstrated this unique feature. When Juno directs her weapon at an ally, a cheerful blue smiley face appears. Conversely, if she aims it at an adversary, an enraged red face emerges instead. The player added that when there’s no ally or enemy in proximity, Juno’s weapon doesn’t exhibit any visual warning.
Overwatch 2 Finally Introduces Juno, Its New Support Hero
Some players of “Overwatch 2” were taken aback yet intrigued by this hidden aspect, speculating if Juno could identify an elusive Sombra using her weapon. However, as revealed in the comments by the original poster, this is unfortunately not a tactic to thwart the much-despised character, Sombra, in the game.
As a dedicated gamer, I’m excited to share that Juno’s weapon is referred to as the Mediblaster and serves as her primary fire in Overwatch 2. With this tool at my disposal, I can either heal an ally or inflict damage on an adversary, much like Ana’s weapon operates. For those fellow players eager to experiment with Juno’s complete kit, it’s important to act quickly, as her testing phase is drawing to a close on July 21. Following the conclusion of Juno’s trial period, we can expect her presence in Overwatch 2 once again when she officially joins the roster with the debut of Season 12 on August 20.
