Overwatch 2 Makes Charming Change to Two Maps

As a dedicated Overwatch 2 fan who’s been through the ups and downs of this game since its beta days, I can confidently say that these recent map changes have added a new layer of excitement to my gaming experience. The saga of Juno’s spaceship has always intrigued me, and seeing it continue on Dorado and now Watchpoint: Gibraltar is like uncovering hidden Easter eggs in the game I love.

In the latest update for Overwatch 2, the Dorado and Watchpoint: Gibraltar maps have undergone modifications. Specifically, Juno’s wrecked space shuttle has been transferred from Dorado to Watchpoint: Gibraltar, with a new monument taking its place in the former location. Interestingly, these map alterations were not detailed in any patch notes, but they are actively implemented within Overwatch 2 as of now.

During the mid-season update for Overwatch 2 in Season 11, a spacecraft carrying a Morse code message and an image of Mei and her friend Jiayi was discovered crashed into the attack point on the Dorado map. It was later verified that this wreckage was actually Juno’s landing pod, where the Martian support hero introduced in Season 12 first touched down on Earth.

It appears that in Overwatch 2, Juno’s spaceship tale has expanded beyond Dorado and now includes Watchpoint: Gibraltar as well. With the Season 14 update in Overwatch 2, the wreckage of Juno’s crashed shuttle on Dorado was taken out and replaced with a memorial marking the first natural-born Martian’s arrival on Earth. Content creator Hazelet from Overwatch 2 recently posted pictures of this adorable new statue on Twitter, along with an English translation of the inscription carved on it.

Juno’s Shuttle Has Moved in Overwatch 2

In regards to Watchpoint: Gibraltar, Juno’s transport vehicle (drop-ship) is now situated within one of the map’s starting points. Given that Tracer, Winston, and other Overwatch members aided Juno following her crash, it’s logical for her ship to be relocated here as Gibraltar serves as Overwatch’s current headquarters. It appears that Juno is now an official member of Overwatch, joining the likes of Lucio, Mei, Orisa, and Efi who have recently joined the team.

As a gamer myself, I can’t hide my excitement about the recent updates to Dorado and Watchpoint: Gibraltar in Overwatch 2! The anticipation among players for the teaser trailers of Juno has been off the charts, and it’s kept us guessing before her big reveal. Even though we might not be getting more PvE missions any time soon, I’m thrilled to see the storyline progress in other engaging ways like this!

As a thrilled fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about the latest addition to Overwatch 2’s roster – Hazard, the formidable tank hero who made quite an impact before his official unveiling in Season 14. In fact, he caused quite a stir by demolishing the Oasis map in Season 13! Now that he’s officially live in the game, I can’t help but wonder if Overwatch 2 will decide to fix the damage inflicted upon Oasis by Hazard and the Phreaks. Only time will tell as we eagerly await the year 2025 to find out if the game will repair the map or continue teasing us with hints about upcoming heroes like these!
