D.Va is a hugely popular tank in Overwatch 2, second only to Reinhardt in terms of how often players choose her. While newer heroes like Kiriko and Wuyang are gaining popularity, D.Va has been a flagship character for the game ever since its launch in 2016, thanks to her fun personality, distinct way of playing, and interesting backstory.

Okay, so I was checking out the Busan map in Overwatch 2, and it looks like something big might be happening with D.Va and her team! A content creator named Hazelet noticed some new text on one of the screens in the MEKA base. Apparently, South Korea has built this huge EMP weapon designed to finally take down the Gwishin. But here’s the catch: D.Va and the rest of MEKA need to actually get it into the heart of the Omnic swarm to make it work. It’s super exciting, and I’m really hoping this leads to some new story content!
Though D.Va is the most well-known member of MEKA Squad in Overwatch 2, the team actually consists of five pilots. The other four, who each pilot unique mechs and fight in different ways, have become popular with fans. While they’ve only appeared in concept art, during D.Va’s cinematic, and in the New Blood comic, these pilots are dedicated to defending South Korea from the ongoing threat of the Gwishin Omnics, even decades after the original Omnic Crisis.
