A recent survey showed off some potential new looks for heroes in Overwatch 2, featuring designs based on things like fruits, playing cards, and the seven deadly sins. While these are just concepts right now and might not become actual in-game skins, they could be added to Overwatch 2 in the future.
Several times a year, Overwatch 2 asks a small group of players for their feedback on potential hero skins through surveys. These surveys often include concept art for many different designs. Some of these ideas, like the Floral Dreams skins that came out in Overwatch 2 Season 18, are eventually added to the game.

Blizzard recently released a survey showcasing 38 potential new skin ideas for heroes in Overwatch 2. Mercy and Kiriko, who already have a large number of skins in Overwatch 2, appear on the list four times each, and Sombra is close behind with three. Many other heroes only got one or two concept skins, and some weren’t included at all. This is surprising to some, especially considering characters like Moira and Lucio would have been a great fit for certain themes, like deadly sins and street skating.
When Could Overwatch 2 Release These Skins?
Just because you’re seeing these official skin designs doesn’t mean they’ll definitely appear in Overwatch 2. While many skins from surveys starting in December 2023 have been added to the game, a lot of others haven’t. Even if a skin does make it in, it will likely look a bit different from the concept art, with changes or features removed. And even then, it usually takes a long time – at least nine months, but often a year or more – for these designs to actually be released.
Image via Blizzard Based on this information, the earliest fans might expect to see skins inspired by this survey is late 2026, possibly in Overwatch 2 Season 25 or 26. However, it’s best not to count on it, as none of the skin ideas from last year’s surveys have actually appeared in the game yet. Those older concepts would probably need to start being released before any of these new ones.
Overwatch 2’s Season 21 starts on February 10th and will introduce a variety of new skins. There will be at least one Mythic skin, and there’s a possibility of two, following the trend of Seasons 19 and 20. Players haven’t seen a skin chosen by community survey in a while, so we might see some added to the Battle Pass or shop soon. It’s also been a while since the game had a collaboration with another franchise, so fans are hoping to see a crossover event sometime in 2026.
