For instance, there’s this Sylvanas Windrunner look for Widowmaker, inspired by the bow-wielding Banshee Queen from WoW. It’s a nod to her character that I appreciate as a fan.
In this collaboration with World of Warcraft, these fresh Legendary cosmetics include cinematics inspired by WoW’s Play of the Game, along with a collection of amusing emotes that replicate the behavior of NPCs who have been giving quests in the long-standing MMO. However, it’s disappointing that the collaboration doesn’t feature any temporary game modes themed around World of Warcraft, which some players felt was a missed opportunity for a significant event in Blizzard’s history.
Fans won’t need to wait much longer for more anniversary-themed content, as Overwatch 2 marks its first birthday with an exciting event commencing on September 24. This three-week extravaganza will resurrect temporary game modes like Mirrorwatch, Beast Hunt, Prop Hunt, and Cosmic Crisis. Overwatch has a rich past of collaborating with World of Warcraft, but the latest crossover event is one of the most extensive in the franchise’s history. Although unique game modes might have made the collaboration even more delightful, fans can still appreciate an abundance of fresh cosmetics and challenging rewards to earn.
