Okay, so Overwatch 2 just dropped a new collab, and I’m hyped – it’s with the Phantom Thieves from Persona 5! Like most of these events, the coolest part is definitely the new skins. They’re giving skins to a bunch of Overwatch heroes inspired by the characters from that awesome Atlus JRPG. Here’s who’s getting them:
- Wuyang – Joker
- Genji – Ryuji/Skull
- Mercy – Ann/Panther
- D.Va – Makoto/Queen
- Lifeweaver – Yusuke/Fox
Besides new voice lines inspired by Persona for certain characters, players can also earn a Morgana-themed weapon charm, name card, and profile icon by finishing challenges within the game before the Overwatch 2 event ends.

Similar to the popular *Overwatch 2* collaborations with *G.I. Joe* and *Transformers*, the new skins are incredibly detailed and well-made. For example, Mercy’s Panther skin even includes a whip sound when she uses her Guardian Angel ability, and all the skins feature unique highlight intros resembling powerful attacks. Blizzard’s artists have done a fantastic job. However, one minor drawback is that, as usual, the character Haru (also known as Noir) hasn’t received a skin alongside the others.
Haru Has Always Been Persona 5’s ‘Forgotten Character’
Haru is a likable character, but she doesn’t resonate with players as much as others in *Persona 5*. She’s introduced relatively late in the game, leaving limited time – only about a month and a half – to develop a close bond with her. By then, players have already invested significant time getting to know the rest of the team, creating stronger connections. This lack of bonding time, both for players and within the game’s story, combined with the fact that her background doesn’t quite fit the ‘outcast’ theme, contributes to her being the least favorite character for many fans.

The recent *Overwatch 2* and *Persona 5* collaboration features the most popular characters from *Persona 5*, specifically those who appear early in the game. While there’s potential for more *Persona 5* skins in the future – Akechi, Futaba, Kasumi, and Haru are likely candidates – the character Noir hasn’t been included. It’s understandable, as players would probably prefer skins for the main Phantom Thieves who *did* make the cut, but there was one clear opportunity to feature her.
Overwatch 2’s Juno Was an Easy Layup For a Haru Skin
Juno joined *Overwatch 2* in Season 12 and quickly became popular thanks to her endearing personality and unique abilities. Her design and quiet nature would make her a perfect fit for a Noir-themed skin. Blizzard generally keeps character silhouettes consistent when creating new skins for *Overwatch 2* – it’s important to quickly recognize heroes during fast-paced matches. Luckily, Juno and the Noir skin share similar characteristics in terms of hair length and overall size, making the concept feasible. Even better, both Noir and Juno are voiced by the same actor, making this skin a natural and fitting choice.

Xanthe Huynh voices both Juno and Haru, which meant the voice lines for Juno could have perfectly matched the original *Persona 5* game. This would have been a fantastic detail for a Noir Juno skin, making it stand out. While it’s enjoyable to hear the *Overwatch 2* voice actors perform lines from a different game, it would have been even better to have Xanthe Huynh reprise her role as Haru. Combined with Milady-themed effects for her weapon, this skin could have been incredibly popular, helping players reconnect with Haru after a long absence.
