I’m so excited! Blizzard just brought back Loverwatch: Love Never Dies in Overwatch! It’s that fun little dating sim where you can go on dates with Genji and Mercy. And the best part? You can earn some cool in-game goodies like icons, titles, and even a highlight intro just by playing! It’s only around until March 1st, so I’m definitely jumping in to get everything before it’s gone.
Okay, so Overwatch doesn’t go as all-out for Valentine’s Day like World of Warcraft does, but they still have some fun with it. This year, they dropped some really cute skins – and I’m talking about Lifeweaver, Soldier: 76, Kiriko, Juno, Domina, Hazard, and Symmetra getting some sweet (or maybe a little edgy) new looks. Definitely some skins that’ll either make you swoon or… well, maybe break a few hearts!
Overwatch Loverwatch Dating Sim Back Until March 1
Beyond the in-game cosmetic items you can buy, Overwatch recently brought back a popular side game. Loverwatch: Love Never Dies, a free dating sim based on the Overwatch heroes, is available again after three years. Players on both PC and mobile can now explore romantic storylines with Genji, Mercy, and unlock a hidden ending – all without needing to play the main Overwatch game.

Besides the fun of going on dates, you can also earn rewards within the game! Completing Genji’s story unlocks the Lovey Dovey Genji Icon and the Genji’s Peace title. Finishing Mercy’s story gets you the Lovey Dovey Mercy Icon and Mercy’s Angel title. If you complete both characters’ stories, you’ll unlock a special ending, which includes the Lovey Dovey Hanzo Icon, Cupid’s Arrow title, and a unique highlight intro for Hanzo called Cupid’s Kiss.

As a big fan, I’m so excited they’re bringing back the rewards from the first Loverwatch: Love Never Dies event! It was back in February 2023, right after Overwatch became Overwatch 2, and I totally missed out on some of the stuff then. It’s awesome they’re giving us another chance to get them!
Image via NetEase It’s important to know that Loverwatch: Love Never Dies is different from the Overwatch dating simulator released only in China in 2025. That game featured original artwork, costumes, and storylines for characters like Cassidy, D.Va, Genji, Junker Queen, Juno, Lifeweaver, and Mauga. While there’s no official English translation of the Chinese dating sim, Overwatch fan and content creator The Omnic Reporter made a complete, 800-page English translation available as a free PDF.
Other Events in Overwatch Right Now
While Overwatch isn’t celebrating Valentine’s Day with special events, there’s still plenty happening in the game. You can currently enjoy the Hello Kitty and Friends collaboration, which offers Sanrio-themed cosmetic items like Name Cards and Sprays until February 24th. Plus, the Year of the Horse event is running until March 3rd, bringing with it the Roadhog’s Catch-a-Mari game mode, along with Lunar New Year-themed rewards like Loot Boxes, a Name Card, and a Spray.
The main event of the big update to Overwatch, called Reign of Talon, is Conquest. Vendetta has seized control of Talon and is now attacking Overwatch. From now until March 17th, players can choose to support either Talon or Overwatch by completing daily and weekly challenges. This earns them Notoriety and lets them progress through their faction’s Battle Pass. Players can then stay loyal to their team for more loot, or become a Double Agent to unlock unique cosmetics from the opposing side. Whichever team wins will determine global rewards, and the overall winning faction will decide whether a free Echo skin is themed after Talon or Overwatch.
