Overwatch Mobile Is In Development At Blizzard

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, the news about Overwatch Mobile has me feeling like a kid at Christmas! I vividly remember the thrill of team-based combat and strategic gameplay that Overwatch brought to the table when it first launched. To imagine being able to carry that experience in the palm of my hand is simply mind-blowing.

It looks like the game Overwatch could soon be available on your smartphones and tablets. As reported by journalist Jason Schreier, Overwatch Mobile is currently being developed at Blizzard Entertainment.

The information comes from his new book, Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment.

In his book, Schreier stated that Walter Kong served as the head of Overwatch, overseeing the launch of frequent heroes and content for Overwatch 2, as well as pioneering new initiatives such as a mobile adaptation of the series.

Details about the mobile game version of Overwatch, such as its launch date, remain undisclosed at this time. However, it’s important to mention that Blizzard has not officially announced Overwatch Mobile yet. Nonetheless, its appearance in this book suggests that development work is indeed underway.

Beyond just Overwatch Mobile, Blizzard had also been working on a Netflix series inspired by the game. Unfortunately, this project was terminated because of a lawsuit filed by Blizzard against Netflix.
