Now, most event Pokémon are distributed online through the Mystery Gift system, letting players download Pokémon with special moves or characteristics. Recently, one Pokémon fan discovered a piece of the older distribution method – a surprising find from the series’ history.

As you explore Lumiose City in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, you’ll find clusters of pink and purple Mega Crystals growing on the ground and buildings. You can break these crystals by having your Pokemon attack them, collecting valuable Mega Shards. Using attacks that hit multiple targets, like Flamethrower or Thunderbolt, is effective against groups of crystals. Plus, Flying-type Pokemon can reach crystals in hard-to-reach locations.
