In contemporary gaming, the concept of evil deities isn’t as commonplace as it once was, but they still make occasional appearances. Let’s explore some well-known JRPGs that center around malevolent deities, evaluate their impact on the narrative and their imposing presence.

Here’s a possible list of classic JRPGs that feature evil gods:

1. Final Fantasy VII – Sephiroth, a self-proclaimed god, is one of the most iconic villains in gaming history. His influence on the plot is extensive and profound.

As a devoted fan myself, I can’t help but eagerly anticipate Masashi Kishimoto’s return to manga-writing! Kishimoto is undeniably one of the greatest mangaka ever, and his work on Naruto has proven its timeless appeal. Naruto isn’t just a popular series-it’s a global phenomenon that continues to captivate audiences even years after its conclusion. And who knows? Decades from now, it could very well be recognized as one of the greatest fictional stories ever told!

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel a special connection to the older games in the Pokémon series. These games are cherished not only for their introduction of countless new creatures, but also because they marked the beginning of many players’ journeys, adding an extra dose of nostalgia. This sentiment is especially strong when it comes to Generation 1 and its Kanto Pokémon, which continue to receive attention in modern games with updated regional forms, evolutions, and variations.

Generation 2 isn’t far behind in terms of nostalgic value for me and many other players. So, it’s somewhat unexpected that the A4a set of Pokémon TCG Pocket seems to pay more disrespect than homage to the beloved Pokémon Crystal game.

On August 18th, players could only encounter Gen 1 starters such as Squirtle and Legendaries like Latios within the first set of Dynamax creatures. Meanwhile, the remaining two sets were accessible from August 19th-20th and August 21st-22nd respectively. Although players can no longer encounter Dynamax Pokémon during the Dark Skies event, they now have an opportunity to participate in some new raid battles and catch a few more Pokémon with boosted spawn rates.

Similar to Sun Wukong, Zhong Kui is a deity from Chinese mythology. Geoff Keighley, the host of Gamescom Opening Night Live, described Zhong Kui as a “spirit-catching deity who roams between the realms of Hell and Earth.

In an unexpected move, Warner Bros Games revealed a fresh LEGO Batman game at Gamescom, accompanied by a humorous trailer filled with laughs. This announcement has ignited discussions among both Batman and LEGO game enthusiasts, with many expressing enthusiasm over the game’s elements reminiscent of the Batman Arkham series and its nods to popular Batman movies. As excitement builds for the 2026 release, more information about the project has come to light. Recent developments have particularly highlighted the extensive map featured in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.

As I sifted through the posts on the PokeLeaks subreddit, my eyes were drawn to an intriguing claim – supposedly, a leak from the elusive 4Chan reveals the design for Mega Zygarde! If this leak turns out to be true, it’s going to be quite the departure from Zygarde’s existing forms. You see, as one of Kalos’ Legendary trio, Zygarde already has three distinct shapes in its arsenal, and if this Mega Evolution leak holds water, there might just be a fourth on the horizon.
