Okay, so the gameplay we saw was a little unclear, but Hideo Kojima gave us some more details about *OD* at the anniversary event. Basically, it sounds like *OD* is going to be an anthology series, where each part explores a different kind of fear. The trailer showed off the first ‘episode,’ called *OD: Knock*, and it’s all about the fear of… well, knocking! But the other episodes? They’re still a total secret, which is super exciting!

Similar to the game *Builder’s Journey*, *LEGO Voyagers* from Light Brick Studio offers a heartwarming and challenging puzzle experience. This time, you can play the entire adventure with a friend in co-op mode. It builds on everything that made *Builder’s Journey* great, and truly captures the spirit of Lego building.

Later in *Dying Light: The Beast*, the crafting system becomes frustrating when trying to create legendary weapons. It’s simply too difficult to gather enough materials to fully upgrade and craft these powerful items, often requiring repetitive grinding in specific locations which disrupts the game’s flow. This makes the idea of crafting legendaries feel less rewarding and ultimately weakens the system. Adding a New Game Plus mode, which the game currently lacks, could help solve this problem.

Both *Hollow Knight: Silksong* and *Hades 2* are sequels to incredibly popular indie games, and both have received a lot of positive attention. *Silksong* launched earlier this month after a six-year wait and was initially ranked as the highest-rated game ever, though it now holds a very impressive overall score of 92. This tied it with *Clair Obscur: Expedition 33* as the highest-rated new game of the year, but *Hades 2* has since taken the top spot – at least for the time being.

Like a lot of people my age, *Pokemon* was a huge part of my childhood. I vividly remember getting *Pokemon Yellow* and a Game Boy Advance for Christmas – it’s the only Christmas I truly remember, and felt like a real gift. I have no idea how my mom managed to afford it, especially given we were very poor growing up. While I don’t want to dwell on those difficult times, poverty has definitely left its mark on me, influencing some of my habits even today. Through all the hardship, video games offered an escape, and they really shaped who I am. I don’t think games *should* only be about escaping reality, but I understand the power of that escape more than most.

Sony faced major supply chain problems that weren’t officially resolved until 2023. The pandemic also slowed down game development, leading to a slower start for this console generation. While the PS5 is now five years old, Sony exclusives were only recently moving away from the PS4. The PS5 is finally establishing itself as a standalone console, but news from Kojima Productions suggests the PS6 may already have its first exclusive game in development.

Dying Light: The Beast offers a fresh experience for fans of the series. Unlike previous games set in cities, this installment takes place largely in the expansive wilderness of Castor Woods. While you can still enjoy parkour in some urban areas, the map is much more open than before. This new setting is what truly elevates the game’s terrifying nighttime experience. You’ll still need to avoid dangerous Volatiles, but the woods themselves make the darkness feel more oppressive and frightening than ever before.

I’m a huge fan of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and it’s easy to see why it’s so popular! Hirohiko Araki’s manga is a true legend – it’s been incredibly influential and still feels fresh after all these years. What’s amazing is that Araki has crafted nine unique parts so far, and they’re all connected within this incredible JoJo universe.
