Tokyo Game Show Announces Major Change for 2026

Tokyo Game Show started in 1996 as a show held twice a year-once in the spring and again in the fall. In 2002, it changed to a single, larger event each autumn. Recently, many video game companies have shifted to online presentations, like Sony’s State of Play, Xbox showcases, Nintendo Directs, and Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest. That’s why it was exciting news when Tokyo Game Show announced plans for a bigger, in-person event in 2026.
