A full-fledged prequel may not be a priority for CD Projekt Red, given its focus on The Witcher 4 and Project Orion, but there are ways to integrate this untapped history. The sequel’s introduction could mirror Cyberpunk 2077’s opening with V and Jackie Welles, establishing the stakes with a prologue set in the 2020s. This approach would provide context for Project Orion’s narrative, allowing players to experience the rise of corporate dominance, the tensions between Militech and Arasaka, and the war that reshaped Night City.
The announcement came via the official Xbox channels, with the game also being available for press at this weeks GDC event.
